Proposal description

DashBoost
This proposal will fund three DashBoost cycles from June to August. DashBoost was hibernated while the treasury was overwhelmed due to the lower price. Due to recent community demand and available funds in the treasury, we are proposing three additional cycles.

Metrics
  • Total number of registered users 378
  • Total number of proposals 165
  • Total number of funded proposals 55
  • Total amount of Dash given for funded proposals 689
Technical Updates
  • Implemented provably random end time on end date (Discourage last minute voting)
  • Enable users to export voting data for auditing
  • Backend improvements to reduce admin time
  • General House-Keeping / UI / UX Improvements
  • Implemented DashBoost DashBoard
  • Full technical updates available here

DashBoost is evolving and poised nicely to be a key pillar to the Dash DAO ecosystem and deliver long term value to the Dash Masternode Network.

I am glad to see DB come back again. It was very useful at a time for small proposal, So we in Dash Haiti was funded on time and defunded about 3 time because of last voters and others uncontrolled action that many people are complaining on discord, so i wanna ask if these issue will be resolved and if the max amount can be lower, then more proposal can be funded ?

Sad to see the evil, greedy whales voting against DashBoost, after all the efforts from Pasta & Team
Keeping this important project alive is lowering the entry barrier to our treasury by proposal owners who are unable to afford or risk the otherwise required 5 Dash fee, which in lesser developed countries is quite substantial
I have only one vote, but you have my support Pasta

Have there been any changes or additional safeguards put in place to keep rogue MNOs from steamrolling the system at the last minute to fund proposals and POs from which we never hear again, thereby pushing out projects maintaining active communication with and participation with the community? Assurances were made that this problem would be addressed, but the problem seems to persist, and randomized vote times don't seem to have any effect.

Again, I am fully in support of Dash Boost on an idealistic level, but who are we actually helping by allocating funds that can relatively easily be gamed away by anyone who can collude with a rogue MNO, especially when most other MNOs aren't showing up to vote? If that can't be prevented, then I would rather see the funds allocated to known, verified, verifiable contributors. Either we need to find a technical solution or we need a smaller wing of Dash Watch or something like it or we're just reproducing a microcosm of the problems of the main Treasury. Even simply using the Dash Boost funding to give proposals who couldn't afford the 5 Dash entry for the primary treasury a shot would be more impactful in that case.

The best way to go about that is to urge MNs to vote on the platform. However, the random end time does seem to prevent the majority of malicious activity. When it comes down to it, if you have dash then you have a vote and it's not my place to declare someone's vote as malicious.

Even if you can't reasonably determine a malicious motive, the question still remains of whether these funds are going to projects and POs that are actually performing and actually adding value to the network. There have definitely been examples that have added value to the network and who are still working within the network to communicate and make progress, but what percentage of the funds allocated have gone to such projects? I think some analysis to this end is necessary if we're going to continue funding this project for anything other than idealistic reasons.

Arthyron,

As a long standing, active community member I respect, understand and accept the points that you make. Thank you for them, feedback like that is what improves projects. That said, I feel like it is not contextualised correctly. DashBoost is in a early stage of development and while it may not be at its finished stage we are constantly learning and adapting the platform to help the system find its place & add value for the Dash Network.

Your vote for DashBoost at this stage is not so much an endorsement of the role that it plays right now, but an endorsement in the integrity and judgment of my team to making the right decisions as we continue to move forward with the fine tuning of DashBoost.

Please if you haven’t done so already take the time to review in detail all the reports, analytics provided for as part of the proposal. You will see that DashBoost has funded and helped critical projects to the ecosystem like the spark payment system, which wasn't prevalent or used before we convinced him to put up a DashBoost proposal.

On a final note, I’d be very open to meeting with you at some point to discuss areas/items that we could pipeline for improvements. I feel you have a good grasp with respect to how DashBoost could be further improved and would be very open to engaging you on that topic via a more technical/formal channel.
