Proposal description

***DUE TO COMMUNITY FEEDBACK, PROPOSAL NAME HAS BEEN CHANGED TO MORE ACCURATELY REPRESENT THE PROPOSAL***

Hi, my name is Tao Of Satoshi.

Most of you know me already from the forums and on Twitter, YouTube and Instagram as the Dash Dalmatian.

I am a very friendly person by nature, and have the ability and patience to deal with many different types of people on a regular basis. I have held a job as a Table Games Supervisor in a casino for 20 years, so I have experience dealing with people on a regular basis.

I believe deeply in Dash and in the team which creates and surrounds it. The ride we’ve been on has been incredible, we are on the cutting edge of money and being a part of that has been amazing.

It’s what led me to devote nearly 100% of my free time to promoting and explaining Dash. From my MASTERNODE SETUP GUIDE FOR DUMMIES, to my popular Twitter account, to my fledgling YouTube account, to my RebelMouse Dash Nation website, to the troll-slaying BCT Dash Nation Progress Thread, to the new Dash Nation website, my heart bleeds Dash.

So now that I’ve shown you my credentials, I will get to the point of the proposal. I have discussed this with members of the community and Evan, and ask for your support as well:

Proposal: Tao Community Coordinator

Over my travels through the interwebs I have noticed that there is a decent amount of miscommunication in the community. People don’t have the information they need on some things due to the fact that plans change without notice sometimes, or answers to questions on forums often don’t get answered due to core team members being too busy to monitor forums because they are working on building digital cash.

I’m proposing to help with that situation by becoming the Community Coordinator. Allow me to define what my role will be. It will be split up into two categories: Community Builder, and Community Communicator.

Community Builder (A continuation of current daily work)

– Grow the community by reaching out to newbies via my accounts on Twitter, the forums, YouTube, Reddit, and my two personal Dash Nation websites.
– Ensure that the official Dash Twitter is up-to-date.
– Encourage people to visit Dash.org.
– Promote a strong community and reach out to outside talent to develop Dash.
– Work with my team on the Dash Slack Channel to create new and interesting ideas to promote the Dash community online and in person.
– Availability to join the team for conferences and expos to lend my personable disposition to the cause.
– Encourage the creation of Masternodes through my channels and guide.

Community Communicator (New responsibilities)

– Enhance communication between the core team and community. Sometimes things change and are not communicated effectively, and that leads to misunderstandings and people making assumptions. I will commit to being a representative for both sides. Core messages to the community, and community questions for the core team.
– Monitor the forums, Reddit, and Twitter for potential breakdowns in communication and resolve to get the answers or input needed to fix them.

If we are to have an effective organization, we will have to have a strong link between the core team and the community. I will help maintain that link. The core team will resolve to provide me with the answers I need to do my job properly, and I resolve to do my job efficiently, and in as little time as possible, balancing my family and work life.

Compensation:

To do this job, I am asking for a regular core team member’s stipend of 61 Dash per month. I guarantee you, it will be money well spent. I have done a lot for Dash in two years, and I would like to do even more to propel this project forward. The initial proposal is for 6 months, after which you can re-evaluate my performance.

To progress, optimism and decentralized technology. To Dash.

First off all thank you for all the hard work you have done TAO. I don't think it would be unfair to pay for your hardwork.

First all how am I to over my opinion on the matter:
Being active in bitcoin for some time now, doing allot of reaseach, investing in bitcoin and altcoins
I also trading with people online fiat to cash and visa versa +4500 different individuals. And have some experience in marketing as well.

I voted no with my mn's for the following reason.

In many ways TAO would be come a face of dash. This is not what we should be looking for DASH.

Understanding the technology behind bitcoin and all other crypto's DASH is a leap forward. you could say Bitcoin is the first smartphone, and the iphone is the reall first mainstream masterphone. (side note a fan of i-phone or apple, dash is certainly a hole lot more compatible to say the least).

With that being said, we need people with Steve Jobs like skills: great presentations skills to make people see how great DASH is compared to the rest.

Actually in general we need that type of presentation. People really are stupid when it comes down to it, sure everybody has something smart to say about bitcoin and money in general. But really they don't. And yes I asked allot people to explain "there so called smart reason's and none of the hold up."

My personal conclusion is, people really don't know, but they easily fall for fantastic promises, and a slick presentation.

We need people in the foreground such as:

If you are looking for a Steve Jobs of Dash, why not try it yourself, anyone else can certainly do the same. This isn't rocket science...Prepare a presentation, Practice, and Post a Video.

This proposal is more specifically about socially interacting with the community. It isn't about presentations or fancy graphics. It gives people the chance to understand and support dash. Tao fits this role nicely. And for a low amount of Dash (even lower than any core person gets) it isn't just about rolling in the Dash dough.

I'm not really sure what you're suggesting here, honestly, but sorry I didn't get your vote. Are you suggesting I'm making fantastic promises with a slick presentation? Please clarify yourself so I can respond properly.

I am a bite dyslectic, but I am pretty sure I explained myself quite clearly.
But let my try it in another way.

What is DASH going to be ? BETAMAX ? or apple's iphone ?
A failed technological wonder or a product that everybody wants.
The solution is in presentation, marketing. Selling the idea why DASH is so great.

That is why we need people with Steve jobs quality's. And that not where your quality's shine.

Also I am not saying we need people that can deliver "fantastic promises". The fantastic promises are already there in the tech of DASH presently and even more so with evolution.

Instead of trying to locate a "steve jobs" that may our may not exist, the six month, 61 dash proposal of TAOs is small enough to not worry about and The time frame is enough to audit results...TAO deserves the votes if for no other reason than his reputation and past works (His or Her? I actually don't know?) As for Amanda, she has already committed to (3 months?) and seems to be on board. Give TAO the votes and lets see the results. The more irons in the fire the better as far as I am concerned.

You are of-course allowed to vote any way you want to. but if you own masternodes and so completely missed everything of my post I am fearful in your ability to vote the right way. I am actually wondering if you may not have sort of reading disability(not trolling you here!)

But I will try to explain it once more for you:

First of all:
"First off all thank you for all the hard work you have done TAO. I don't think it would be unfair to pay for your hardwork."
So I am saying he deserves to get paid okay ? ;)

But look at the tittle alone:
"TAO-COMMUNITY-LEAD"
TAO is aiming for the community leader position ! that means he will be come a talking-head for dash.

Also I am not saying to locate a steve jobs, heck don't need a steve jobs we have got top notch lead dev named
" Evan Duffield". We just need people that can present it an similar slick way. Their are tonnes of people active in Marketing and communication, and there lots of people now a days that are great presenters and communicators.

As for Amanda ? what are you on about ? I am merely stating she is going a good job and gives off the right vibe (in my opinion). Where on earth are you coming from that she should get paid for work she isn't doing ?

She is not applying for that job anyways she is doing great with her youtube-program and it would be best to keep her their for the time being.

Yes, upon reflection I will let the core team handle the communication issues, and I will focus on a proposal next funding round that centres more around the work that I am currently doing and will continue to do for Dash. Thank you for your comments.

TAO, you have my votes for that proposal.

Thank you for listen to me, to as well as the others in the community. You are a real contribution to DASH, and hopely for many more years to come.

So are you requesting this proposal to be voted down?
Reply

You brought her up amigo! :)
And Steve Jobs!

So you are protesting the title of "TAO-COMMUNITY-LEAD"

Do you have another suggestion?
TAO media liaison? or TAO social media Moderater?

As for my ability to vote "in the right way" your comment is condescending and rude, as is most of your first paragraph. Not appreciated.

This is no place to pass insults or be poor mannered. We are all on the same team.

down vote for poor manners and probable posting while on merlot...always a bad idea!

I am sorry that you keep misunderstanding me Dashmasternode.
I am only here to offer my professional insight in the matter at hand. Do it may come across as harsh, it is not my intent to hurt your feelings, yet at the same time, protecting my investment of multiple master-nodes is my primary concern here.

Communication is one major key, to success. That is what I am pointing out to you. If you can read what I said a couple of time without getting emotional, you will understand you made multiple misinterpretations about my posts. This should concern you as well. On top of that you will see that you are actually insulting me instead of it being the other way around

No Problem! Text is always a poor communication device because there are no social or physical cues to absorb and assist.

I don't misunderstand you, My feelings are pretty hard to hurt and as a guy I only have 3, sleepy, hungry or horny! :)

I was negatively reacting specifically to
"I am fearful in your ability to vote the right way"
If you weren't calling out my ability to understand and vote in a proper manner I think you may have thought to choose a different way of saying whatever you were saying. Because You are pretty clear otherwise.

I have re-read everything and think you should perform the same critique upon yourself. We don't all always realize how we sound. Myself included, fair enough. This forum shouldn't really be the one where we flame on about who hurt who's feelings first (or is it whom?I never get that one right!)

I will still support TAO but I see that he should probably dump the word "Lead" and try again.

As we see by the vote you are in the majority so the vote will of course be respected by everyone.

I get this from you....You believe that TAO should not be the face of Dash. You are looking for the Andreas Antonopoulos or Jobs or Elon Musk etc for that role but TAO has an important place and important purpose here nonetheless. Added to that you would never think to infer that anyone is unqualified to vote and I misunderstood your poorly worded statement that said otherwise.

Do I get it?
:)
I apologize for saying that you post on merlot.

Happy Canada Day!!

This is your problem Snake-stroker (yes that is an intentional insult, not the chicken sh*t backhanded ones like you present)

I am not against this proposal but how long is this payment channel open? 6 months is that correct? If so I will vote yes. Tao has been a hard working advocate. And I believe in promoting from within and without.
6 months is not unreasonable and we have a proven record of labour here. 6 months allows for a reasonable timeframe to verify results and consider an extension, if proposed.

too long for me but i do like and recognize all his efforts.
probably a bit too much DASH as well but if we end up having some extra DASH to throw around i will vote yes this month.

Thank you, sir. I appreciate your support and can guarantee I will work hard to earn every DASH. Growing the user base is important to me.

Thank you for your vote of confidence! I have a proven track record of results, and I will continue to work hard at bringing people in to Dash. I believe I should earn my money, so that's why I made it for only six months, and then submit for a re-evaluation.

I am voting no on this package as a whole, because I don't believe the network should pay any appointed "liaison" -- I just don't think that's a necessary role in a virtual corporation.

However, I WOULD vote yes to pay you to take on the Dash Twitter and Facebook accounts. They're not nearly as active or as good as the Dash Dalmatian social accounts, and they should be. I'd like to see your wonderful energy go to breathing consistent, daily life into those accounts.

I will maintain the official Dash Twitter as part of my duties. Sorry I didn't get your vote!

The masternode guide was a great help and the only resource I relied on when setting up my first.
I hope with this funded it will be rewritten cleanly (formatting, structure, it's a bit messy overall).
Thanks for your free work so far. It's time to pay you. Yes.

Thank you very much for your support. It was my pleasure. I would love to keep doing it, only officially. Any feedback on how to make the guide better?
Reply

You may have already fixed most or all of these, or I picked them up from another setup guide that wasn't yours:
Purge all references to "darkcoin" / "dark..." It really confused me. grep HotCold .dash/debug.log not grep HotCold .darkcoin/debug.log
Carefully discuss the "Debug console" in the Dash Core Wallet for noobs. It took me about two weeks to figure out that your listed commands like "./dash-cli masternode list full" actually means enter "masternode list full" directly into the "Debug console" without the leading "./dash-cli"
1,000 coins all in one transaction.
Be very basic and obvious with Linux commands. It was my first time using them and I had to Google a lot of them to try to understand them.
The location to save and content of dash.conf masternode.conf was very difficult and troublesome. I also had a lot of difficulty with these files when increasing to my second masternode. Thanks very much.

Thanks for the feedback! I will review my guide again for errors. I will double check again for instances of Darkcoin.
