One of the best things that came out of Bitcoin Miami, was an invitation to the Satoshi Roundtable. For those of you that are unaware, the Satoshi Roundtable is an invitation only event that helps those very close to the Bitcoin project to organize and talk about some of the most pressing issues that are happening in the space. We’re really happy to be invited to this event and get some time to chat with the Bitcoin core developers, along with talking to large stakeholders in the Bitcoin ecosystem. Building these relationships will be critical to our long term success as a currency and project.

From the core team, Daniel Diaz and Evan Duffield will be attending the event. The tickets were $2450 per person ($4900 total), then $440 for Evan and $660 (not sure yet) for Daniel. Due to the full budget we’ll be spreading out the reimbursement for this over two months.

A special thanks goes to Michael Terpin for helping us set this event up.

As much of an honor as this may be to be invited to such a high profile meeting of the minds in an undisclosed location, is anyone else concerned that Evan and Daniel might come up missing and never return? Does anyone really think the other 58 people attending have any interest in Dash?
I personally believe their interest is in Evan Duffield not Dash itself. Could they be trying to convert him? After all, he would make one hell of a Bitcoin dev

This. This is why I oppose this little yoshis island getaway. The motives are very unclear and shady imo. Not because of Evan, because what else would a group of BTC investors want from him? To help him dethrone BTC? Please.

Cool, we'll have our people in The Bilderberg Group of crypto. Curious to see how this will develop, the new elite of a new era...

How many times has this convened? How many times has useful change/progress come out of it? Following a pattern, just because it's a pattern, without bothering to notice that it's a pattern of failure...

I am also curious about this...

Voted no because, why?

For half that price they can come to my place to talk about busted crap. And shoot guns! No extra charge!

smh

I'm supporting this on the condition that we get a closeup of Peter Todd's face when he gets owned by Evan! Seriously, though, a great opportunity to show off Dash's innovations amongst an elite, influential group.

funny thing is... what is everyone voting against? Evan not going or Evan not being reimbursed from the blockchain? Because you know...he can still go if he really wants to

As they say, it's not what you know, but who you know. A great opportunity.

Voted no for rather obvious reasons...

now that its clear who exactly made this proposal with proper motivation and what Dash could possibly gain from it,

this is an amazing opportunity !! to be invited to the 'big boy' table of crypto !
i do not understand, what are the 'obvious reasons' you mentioned ??

my obvious reasons to vote no initially were :

- no budget proposal description
- no owner claimed
- no mention of this new budget proposal anywhere (the Miami Conference & Next Development Goals announcement only mentioned invitation .. it did not mention any costs)

So some people (like myself) first thought this was a hoax .. i replied to my post afterwards when it turned out to be for real. Strange that this budget proposal is not mentioned in the above mentioned announcement, would have caused a lot less confusion.

What is the description, what are we paying for? the trip? For how many people? And here, nothing is written out, yet 87 people have voted yes???

It doesn't matter. Look at the owner. It could be a proposal that openly states that we should all shove our heads up our butts even further, and it'd get votes...

FYI, you first create the title/amount/duration of the proposal and submit to the network. Then you need to wait until it is confirmed before you can add the description, owner, and the rest of the info. If you see a blank proposal again, just wait a bit for the info to be added.

Although I think this should be a proposal for the Duff Roundtable instead of anything to do with Bitcoin, I see the value. Best of luck guys.
