Proposal description

Hello Dash people :)

First, I would like to congratulate everyone with the eventual Dash Platform release in the Mainnet.
It is a pleasure to see its finally live and we can actually begin using it and build new solutions and decentralized applications on top of it.
It was hard work for all of us, especially for community members who had to patiently wait while platform team is pushing hard to make it all happen.

Secondly, I would like to appreciate masternode network and community for the long lasting support. I greatly appreciate your support

Prior work
It’s been a while since I’ve been working in the Dash Incubator in both developer and strategist roles and improving Dash ecosystem and products. Me and my team already did and brought in a lot of nice things and products that have already received a lot of appreciations and feedback from the community. And we still keep going, increasing and improving our development flow each week.

It was fun and great time working in the Dash Incubator, and I really like Dash Incubator rules, I think it’s a very unique tool for contributors all around the world to start participating in Dash development and actually earn from it.

But our team is growing fast, and demand for the work from the network also vastly increasing, that means that we need to be able to quickly adapt to it. While Incubator is a great thing to

DFO

pshenmic.dev is a new Dash Funded Organization that led by me and backed by team working with me together. We have 4 core team members (including me) that are always busy with something plus few part time contributors.

Our work are mostly weekly-based and we try to push new features, updates as quickly as possible.

The budget will be split into two separate parts.

The first one will be a fixed price that should cover all the expenses on my dev work, research and projects management (basically a salary). I do a lot of different stuff and project at once, and manage a lot of projects that it’s hard to itemise and log all my work as tasks, also as I now do way less code than actually project management.

The second one, called a reserve, will be instantly converted into Dash Platform credits and transferred to the pshenmic.dev Identity that will be used to payout people for their work.

Data Contract
pshemic.dev DFO will have its own Data Contract in the Dash Platform network that will serve as a storage for all our projects, tasks, claims and rewards for the dev work that we do.

Dash Platform already have all features needed for the full transparency, accountability and easy decentralised payouts for the development work.

Data Contract is going to have several document types describing our projects, tasks and reward claims for the development. Identity owner of the data contract will hold all the credits that is currently available as a payouts for the tasks.

Once developer pick one task, he submit a “claim” document type in the data contract and proceed to the work. When task is finished, he updates a claim document with negotiated reward price, and pshenmic.dev Identity buyout the claim via Platform’s purchaseDocument function. Document price credit amount will be transferred from owner identity balance to the developer’s identity and then he will be able to withdraw it.

Budget
We ask 400 DASH in the upcoming month, plus I have 1 month left in the Incubator that puts it into a 800 DASH total. While this may seem quite enough, if we split it among all of our working devs and contributors, it's still not much for a full time highly-qualified work for all of them.

We are experiencing shorts in the budget, because we extensively scaled out work recently as per requests from the community, and so happened that we have already emptied out the Incubator reserve for the September already. There are a lot of work to do, and we don't want really want to slow down our work, especially with the growing demand for the work in the different parts of the Dash.

The network treasury is tight, and there are not many options that we have. I talked with my team and we agreed that lower our asks for next two month so that we have enough budget to cover two months (september + ocotober) to overcome this transition period and hopefully return with a full force.

Budget table for a October 2024 will look like this:
Pshenmic 140 DASH (fixed rate)

Reserve 260 DASH (available as a submittable tasks) :
* Alexey (frontend) up to 120 DASH
* Owl351 (backend) up to 70 DASH
* BlackMirrorDesigned (UX) up to 70 DASH

400 DASH more coming from the Incubator for the October, but we will have to spend it right away to settled down all the payments for the work that we are going to do in September. As I switch to my own DFO, there will be mo no more Dash Incubator proposals in the network for me.

Very happy to see this proposal. I fully support your team, as mentioned in our recent interview:

Can you please justify why you are creating this proposal while (I believe) you still have this one active and to receive funding? https://www.dashcentral.org/p/dash-incubator-mikhail-2024-q3

This means you are actually asking for a total of 800 Dash / month going into the future?

Yes, that is explained in the budget section of the proposal text. I’ve updated it slightly to make it more clear. But basically yes, 400 DASH given in the last quarter (Incubator) was based on the work we’ve done in the previous one, when there were only 2 devs working mainly (me and Alexey).

This summer we started scaling our work and growing team, as per growing demand and requests from the network. We found couple of talents that I was able to establish a good workflow with. That made the reserve to spend quite fast.

We have 3-5 devs actively working right now, three of them doing full time, and the rest would like to have a bigger load, so we have to increase our ask or the other option is slow down back. 800 DASH would put it to the minimum for what we have now. There will be no more Incubator proposals from me, and I expect to put 800 DASH the following month.

He addressed it in the budget section of his proposal, and we discussed it in our interview here:

I don't have the time for a 40 minute interview at this moment.

Is the intent to be asking 800/month moving forward?

Looks like DCG will have competition with their DCG Supplemental budget funding requests and are only now starting to realise that.

I don't understand, are you creating a new DAO for what was once the core of DCG?

Yes from me.

Please keep us updated about the issue rango (owner of Dash Central) is facing with regards to the Insight API. I would like to see that sorted out as soon as possible.

Sure. We have already fixed the frontend issue and DCG infrastructure team actually reported few days ago it is working.

But I’m afraid there are couple more, because I seen some of the addresses are shown as unparsed address in the UI on my infrastructure. Must be something with new transaction versions / protocol upgrades, but maybe I just incorrectly run it. We will finish that in September.
