Proposal description

MysticDash Challenge and Pure Victory Championship Sponsorship

Hopefully everyone got to enjoy or be a part of the recent #mysticdash challenge that was recently put on. The #mysticdash challenge was the brain child of Firas Zahabi head coach at Tristar Gym. Firas and I got connected a few weeks ago when I reached out to him to see if I could help with his new decentralized Brazilian jiu-jitsu platform that was being developed on his youtube channel. This new venture was called the Pure Victory Championships and I personally had to be a part of it and hoped that eventually the MNO's would see my vision of bringing together MMA and Digital Currency. So let's get to the story!

I offered to sponsor the PVC episodes paying $100 to the winning fighter in Dash. I wanted to sponsor it out of my own pocket first so that we could get some good data with view counts and also work out the kinks of how this could go down. So far we have sponsored 6 PVC episodes paying out $100 worth of Dash to the winner of each episode. These episodes are viewed by 6-10,000 of the Tristar subscribers each time they are released. Not bad for the $100 ask.

During the week of the Aug 26th Money fight when Firas and I were texting we got onto the topic of doing a giveaway for the fight. My goal was to improve wallet downloads for the Dash Wallet app that had recently been released into the iOS and Android stores and Firas wanted to help spread the love of Dash to his followers especially after using and seeing how awesome our app was.

To get a good idea of all the view's we have already received have a browse on this page: https://www.youtube.com/user/tristargymcanada/videos

To date I personally have put out the following on behalf of the network:

2.789846 (Dash paid out to PVC fighters for EP1-7)
54.41489017 (Dash paid out to #mysticdash challenge 1)
https://twitter.com/Firas_Zahabi/status/900826993394110469
0.82978 (Dash paid out to #mysticdash challenge 2)
https://twitter.com/Firas_Zahabi/status/906595789060833281

My request is as follows:

PVC (began July 06,2017)
3 Dash (total PVC Fighter payouts to date rounded up)
10 Dash (1 Dash reserved and to be awarded for the winner of the next PVC 10 fights)
----
13 Dash (for sponsoring 16 PVC fights)

MYSTICDASH
55 Dash (#mysticdash challenge 1)
1 Dash (#mysticdash challenge 2)
8 Dash (0.5 Dash #mysticdash challenge for next 8 fight cards)
----
64 Dash (for doing 9 total #mysticdash)

MISC
5 Dash (Proposal fee)
5 Dash (My time doing all the things)
----
10 Dash

TOTAL: 13 + 64 + 10 = 87 Dash

You have done it all and it worth this proposal. Your Dash giveaways with others of which always took the lead has funded 2 major meetups on Africa which brought a lot of newbies into Dash, go coingun. All should consider a YES vote for this awesome proposal.

I thought this was very cool-I participated and several of my friends did that knew nothing about DASH previous to this promotion.

Coingun, you've been developing this relationship for some time now. Deep relationships with such organizations don't always pay off immediately, but over time. I think this is a worthy relationship to fund, and will be voting yes!

First of all I would like to thank Jeff for his vision and guts to pull this off. Making connections with some of the biggest names in UFC and MMA is really quite a feat and deserves the YES votes in and of itself, regardless of the relatively small outlay to the network. This wouldn't have been possible if Jeff didn't reach into his own pocket to get it done. The hype surrounding the Mayweather/McGregor fight was insane and to capitalize on this during that time was a stroke of genius. Also, getting a contact such as Firas AND having him promote Dash is an unbelievable opportunity for many reasons and IMO is in line with Dash's vision for a decentralized future with more personal responsibility and freedom.

Here are my reasons why DASH should be supporting this and MMA in general:

-Massive and growing audience: MMA is the fastest growing sport in the world. You want exposure? Get a fighter, or better yet, a coach of the best fighter of all time promoting Dash. Getting a well-known coach to promote Dash is the best case scenario because he can't come out of favor with people. He doesn't "win" or "lose" and always has respect from the industry and fighters. Young people will always seek out teachings from mentors and coaches so the coach is always the gateway to learning and influences the next generation coming through the ranks. Isn't that we're doing this for? I'm not involved in Dash for myself - it's for the future and those that come after me. Invest in the people that shape the future.

-Personal responsibility and freedom: Martial arts are one of the hidden keys to personal growth, confidence building, personal responsibility and provides people with the means and tools to diffuse situations in a calm manner. You wonder why Joel Valenzuela is so good at neutralizing trolls on reddit, twitter, etc? He is a state champion kick-boxer with a great mentality and ability to calmly diffuse arguments with wit and facts. People in martial arts don't react with emotions- they are taught to evaluate situations before making a move- always in self-defence. These are types of qualities that people need in a decentralized world - where Dash exists - and government doesn't. We need to encourage and promote MMA to have a more peaceful world with people that can handle themselves and only fight in self defence - a populace less dependent on big brother and more personally responsible. Martials arts doesn't need Dash but Dash needs martial arts.

-Decentralized MMA Tournaments: What more do I have to say? UFC is a $5B+ entity and needs some competition. Imagine if we could put up the purse to compete with UFC and the PVC tourneys are live-streamed as a feeder system to the UFC? We are supporting mixed martial artists that otherwise might not be able to afford to learn the sport and getting great exposure and recognition. We won't get 5M views overnight but I think the PVC concept is awesome and needs some Dash support. Firas is one of the biggest names in MMA and he has the respect of all. This horse is a winner and if you don't like winning you're on the wrong team.

My appeal to MNOs who have already vote NO. Please consider these points I've made and consider changing your vote. Jeff is a major asset to this community and the potential for Dash with this PVC is greater than we all think.

Dash needs to have MMA on our side and this is a small "entrance fee" to gain access to this market.

Vote YES.

Most proposal owners come to the table with nothing but a rough plan, but Coingun actually completed the full proposal and fronted the funds before coming to the treasury asking for money. The $20k prize probably could have achieved the same effect as a $1-2k prize pool, but that's a detail I can look past.

Voting YES, along with a hearty thank you to Coingun for being proactive and not waiting for anyone else's approval to make progress for Dash's sake.

I too appreciate the initiative, but just because he has already carried out a plan doesn't mean we are obligated to reimburse him. If he had come to the MNOs with this plan before carrying it out, it likely would have been voted down.

I wouldn't mind funding the continued and past sponsorship but the 55 dash for the mysticdash challenge 1 is just too much.

I prefer having a pre-discussion of budget proposals, but i also realise there were plenty of budget proposals from respectable Dash members that had no pre-discussion and were presented afterwards as well.

I think it is important to judge and analyse each budget proposal with some objectivity and in this case i think what Coingun is requesting for funds to cover his already invested money and to fund the next 10 fights, is not that unreasonable and it brings value to Dash. So you got my support.

I don't think this is a prudent use of funds. They could be applied elsewhere in a more professional manner that gives us a greater return per dollar. Personally, I am voting no on this proposal.

I think, through Coingun, who has been working with the MMA for a long time now (how long...? 3 or 6 months? Anyway, Coingun is developing a relationship, and relationships take time. I think this is an excellent proposal.

Core Team Member using a throwaway, I Speak only for Myself.

This was a Very Bad use of funds, 20k! It was very Sloppily thrown together at the Last Minute only days before the Mac fight, Most of the Money was Wasted. Even if it had been Properly planned a month in advance 20k was Way too much and the same results could have been had with not too much more than 2k. I think Coingun is a Smart guy but very Impulsive and should probably leave these bigger giveaways to others.
Myself and others on Reddit were lead to believe that it was Firas {Good Guy AFAIK} or Coingun that paid for this out of their own pocket. His lack of Communication on this proposal and his other Max Keiser proposal is troubling in how it has been handled information wise, The Lack thereof.
This seemed to be Less about Dash and More about coingun promoting his buddy's gym. His failure to see the conflicts of interest is also troubling, 20k to impress your wannabe buddy is a bit much don’t you think? The right thing to do is to just man up and pay for this mess yourself.
This spur of the moment Stunt was a bad idea but I think people did not care because if coingun or his buddy wanted to waste their own money that was on them. Why would Dash give 20k to promote Coinguns buddies gym, makes no sense. 2k yeah sure maybe whatever, but 20k, GTFOH.

I don’t know much about MMA but I like the “Pure Victory Championships” part and Would probably support paying $100 per episode which seems reasonable.
This is backwards from how the proposal system is supposed to work though and a good reason why we have pre - proposal discussions before the proposal. Not respecting the masternodes or the process is not cool.
Coingun should eat this one and not do something so reckless in the future expecting the MNO to Bail him out again, he can afford this easily, he runs like 10+ Masternodes or used to.

I Also Don’t want to see the extra 100K Kieser funds Wasted on something crazy like this, but nobody really knows what is going on there either. :(
Get your act together buddy and put in a proper pre proposal with a good idea and I will Vote for it, But not this one. Better communication is also a must.

I haven't yet met a core member that Capitalizes random Words in the middle of his Sentences.

I'm not sure its in good taste to even mention that you are a core team member. We have no way to verify if that is true. It's a attempt to make your argument more valid. It should be good enough to stand on its own.

My perspective is that the community is still attempting to learn what works. Is it a waste? Maybe. But it's really insignificant. coingun is risking not getting funded on this, and that is a big deal by itself. He had to of thought it was a good opportunity. There are no guarantees with masternodes even as a core team member.

Some opportunities may seem too good to pass up. And someone in the community may want to use their funds to front the costs. That is a bold risk. Having done proposals it's way more stressful then you would think going into it. But i'm not going to pass up a good opportunity if i see one of the community. I think there was so much buzz around this that coingun thought that doing a 10k giveaway could go viral. I don't think it made it to that level but the guy does get lots of views. Dash is ready for more mainstream marketing and a lot of opportunity is lost every day.

Agreed -- it is not helpful for someone to use a throwaway and claim to be a core team member. If they are a core team member, then they should own up to it and be professional about it. It's not like they are disallowed from disagreeing with one another. And if not a core team member then they're lying for their agenda. Either way.
