Proposal description

Status Update
The Dash Nexus proposal submitted in the March funding cycle received enough support to pass, however the treasury had insufficient funds to pay out the Nexus proposal. Thanks to the generous donations from a number of community members, Dash Nexus has sufficient funds to provide uninterrupted service this month, as well as the resources to roll out some critical updates.

What does this proposal funding request cover?
This proposal will allow us to perform regular and ongoing site maintenance, implement community feedback that we received over the last three months, and to progress through the Dash Nexus development roadmap. Listed below are the details of services that will be provided:

High priority feature development
There are numerous features that would enhance the Nexus platform! Starting from integrating DashWatch reports, to calculating the actual USD value paid out to proposals, to creating a 'Sandbox' mode, where MNOs can create hypothetical payout scenarios and see which combination of proposals would fit into the budget - the Nexus MVP provides a perfect foundation to add new functionality and dramatically improve the governance process.

Coordinating community development efforts
A small team of Nexus and STRV developers will work to outline product goals, set development objectives, review contributions, perform testing, and implement pull requests. Without having this structure, it will not be feasible to have a collaborative community development effort.

Integrating community feedback
By combining the efforts of the Nexus development team and the work produced by community developers, we will be able to act on the feedback we received from the community over the last few months and make meaningful changes to the platform that will improve the overall experience.

User support
Our team will be available to answer questions and offer help to community members using the platform, quickly replying to all incoming requests that come in across multiple communications channels including Discord, our Feedback tool, Dash Central, and emails. It is extremely important that we have resources available to constantly monitor these discussion channels, since any issues that come up may be urgent in nature and may affect the governance process.

Community engagement
In an effort to better engage with the community, we will begin hosting monthly Nexus Town Halls, where we will present our development progress, discuss roadmap features, and answer community questions. The first Town Hall will be tentatively scheduled for April 18th, 5pm PST.

Ongoing maintenance
We will ensure that Nexus is compatible with all future network updates. Without this critical maintenance work, we cannot guarantee that the platform will function properly when the network transitions to new releases, such as v0.14 and v1.0 later this year.

Operating costs
This funding will cover the hosting and software fees to allow Dash Nexus to remain online. One way we may be able to reduce the monthly burn rate is by transitioning to an Open Source structure, which will make services like Github, Jira, and TravisCI free.

Why should the Dash Network fund Dash Nexus?
Dash Nexus is critical governance infrastructure and the MVP has already improved aspects of the governance process, such as providing a clear and reliable leaderboard, as well as greatly simplifying the proposal creation and submission process:

"The DashNexus team is amazing and the new site is working extremely well, anyone creating or voting or commenting on proposals will immediately see the improvements and how quick and easy things are" - DeltaEngine

"Dash Watch submitted three concepts and two live proposals using the Dash Nexus platform. The submission process has been simplified and requires no technical knowledge, opening up the Dash proposal system to a wider business community. Dash Nexus has also been working with Dash Watch to integrate proposal reports directly into the Nexus platform when development funding becomes available" - Dash Watch

"Process compared to Dash Central was very easy. It was nice not having to deal with the Core Wallet and the command console - everything took place via an easy to use interface. It is an awesome user experience" - Glenn Austin, DCG

The Dash Nexus team is personally invested in the success of Dash and has a track record of delivering on budget and on schedule, even with the significant price depreciation in 2018. Even with the competitive budget cycles and lack of funding available for the Nexus platform, our team has remained engaged and connected to the project and has demonstrated our commitment to deliver on the full potential of Nexus.

Continued development on the already delivered MVP platform will perfectly position Dash to shine as the leader in decentralized governance as Dash continues to break new ground as the world's most innovative DAO. Like Dash itself, Dash Nexus is built to evolve and provide unique value propositions not found in other cryptocurrencies projects. With this funding, we can continue to build and deliver functionality that will add value to the ecosystem for years to come.

Past Work
Dash Nexus launched its MVP on schedule in December 2018, despite being underfunded by over $70,000. The project has since remained unfunded, halting further development of the platform. A detailed recap of our past proposals is available in the Dash Watch Report.

Thank you for your support!!

Why are we still pouring money into this? If Dash Nexus disappeared tomorrow we would be no worse for wear. It has been around for a long time but 99% of the activity on proposals still happens on Dash Central. Mnos prefer to use Dash Central. If mnos are not using it, where is the value?

Friendly reminder to Masternodes: All your votes from last month are cancelled, null and void. Unlike previous months where successful proposals can kind of coast because all their YES vote carry over, this month, THEY DON'T. Please go vote so that we don't leave deserving proposals high and dry. If you are having problems voting, this thread will likely solve your problem, otherwise ask.

I can't reiterate and stress enough the importance of this project for the continued success and efficient operation of the DAO. Until Nexus is fully funded and built out, the DAO cannot be what it needs to be in order to operate this expansive ecosystem, and thus cannot maximize the capabilities of the Treasury, and thereby create self-enhancing feedback loops. Dash Nexus is critical infrastructure, second only in importance to DCG. Please take the time to understand what Nexus is doing and ensure it gets the funding it needs to enrich the ecosystem.
