Proposal description
Summary
There is 33 Dash outstanding in the escrow account for eWallet, this proposal releases those funds to us and they will be used for liquidity in our upcoming exchange launch.
eWallet is now launching as Switchly.com - a crypto:crypto exchange in July before we launch our fiat fiat pairing with DASH-CAD in August. We will be giving equity to the Dash Investment Foundation (DIF) when it is ready to receive it - we're counting on your support, thank you!
Full Description
In the January 2018 cycle, my team received funding to build a GBP-DASH fiat gateway for the underserved UK market. Our budget for this proposal was around $150,000 based on costs including hiring an additional developer as well as necessary legal and compliance expense.
Unfortunately this proposal went live just before the collapse of the crypto market. Due to 'crypto winter' we ended up receiving around $32,000 of that $150,000 budget - a 78% deficit.
Despite this, we persevered, we each took on debt, worked with minimal to no salary and did everything we could to make our limited budget go as far as it could. You can see all our updates on our update thread on the Dash forum, and on our original proposal here: https://www.dashcentral.org/p/UK-Fiat-To-Dash-Exchange-And-Marketing we also have full public financials that have been Dash Watch verified.
We succeeded in building out the gateway, which you can see demoed on the 3 Amigos podcast here (please fast forward to around 19:20)
We proceeded to launch the platform to friends and family before we were unfortunately shut down by our payment processors. Crypto winter hadn't only impacted our funding drastically, it had also impacted market and banking sentiment. Each of our payment processors who had previously agreed to work with us (and understood the nature of our business fully) backed out.
This left us in the unfortunate position of having a built platform but no budget or recourse to launch it. Treasury funds were tight and highly competitive and we looked for ways to make ends meet until the banking climate in the UK got better.
We worked freelance for members of the community and took on work outside of Dash, building a small client base and sustaining ourselves through digital marketing work and software development.
Throughout this period and since we first heard of Dash we have been absolute maximalists and evangelists for everything Dash is. We were fully involved in the community, volunteering our time and helping wherever we could. It was from this work that we built an idea and launched a proposal in partnership with George Donnelly to built a comprehensive platform for merchants called Dash Retail.
Dash Retail is nearing completion and some of our work is already in use in Colombia, Peru and Venezuela, with over $5000 in volume over the last 30 days and our latest alpha release is being well received. The platform re-used some of our work on eWallet but also features a comprehensive new codebase and in turn that will benefit eWallet when we launch it under its new brand of Switchly (Switchly.com).
Work on Switchly is going well, we will be launching a crypto:crypto exchange (like ShapeShift or Changelly) in the coming weeks and shortly following that we will be launching a CAD:DASH offering in partnership with a Canadian MNO. As has always been our intention we will be giving equity to the Dash Investment Foundation when it is ready to receive it.
From our initial ewallet proposal there is 33 Dash outstanding, this resides in an escrow account held by Dash Core Group. For tax reasons, this 33 Dash must be released to us this month or it is forfeit. We are putting this proposal forward to ask the DAO to release this remaining 33 Dash so that we can use it for liquidity on our initial launch.
By voting yes for this proposal you will be refunding our proposal fee and instructing Dash Core Group Inc. to release the remaining 33 Dash in our escrow account to us.
Thank you for your time,
Ash + Alex

Bottom line, there's still 33 Dash in their escrow account with Core. Core wants to deal with it (one way or the other) and get it off their todo list. If the governance vote wins, Ash, Alex and Dash Retail get that 33 Dash. If it's a no vote, Core gets/keeps it. They're working on a shoe string budget, and they still have debt from making the heroic effort to get the platform launched. Full details here:

The proposal was getting quite long but there has been a lot happening including more meetings on the Isle of Man today. Please feel free to ask me any questions you may have.
