Proposal description

Dash Core Group November 1st Funding Proposals
DCG is submitting 2 funding proposals for the November 1st budget cycle:
1) DCG Compensation: proposal posted in August: currently month 3 of 3
2) DCG Infrastructure: $39,500

This Proposal
This is cross-posted here

What does this specific proposal fund?
This proposal funds Dash Core Group's ongoing infrastructure costs - including hardware and workplace application costs. These tools are critical for the DCG developers and other staff to work productively. It also includes hosting for externally-facing services including the website, forum, testnet, etc.

The last time funding was requested for the Dash Core Group’s infrastructure budget was in July 2019.  That funding did not last as long as anticipated because of the steep decline in the price of Dash from when the proposal was originally posted to when the Dash was paid out.  Once we received funding we immediately converted it into USD.

Our current infrastructure costs average $7,000/month. This proposal, if paid out at the current exchange rate, should provide sufficient funding for infrastructure to last just short of 6 months.  These funds are for the following services:
  • Cloud computing services
  • Software development tools and applications
  • Security applications
  • Accounting and expense reimbursement software subscriptions
  • Google Suite
  • Video-conferencing services
The expenses for cloud computing instances constitute the largest portion of our infrastructure costs.  These costs run approximately $4,000 - $5,000 per month and have grown significantly since we started testing long-living masternode quorums, which can require hundreds of virtual machines to test accurately.  Though we had planned to gradually reduce those cloud computing instances, we have found that we need to continue to host large masternode quoroms for Evolution devnet launch purposes, and a full-functioning testnet is often required from Dash partners and exchanges during integrations.

If you have any questions, please direct them to @kot in this Dashnexus post to ensure we are notified of your request.

Requested funding is as follows for the August 1st budget cycle:
· 565 Dash for core team infrastructure ($39,500 USD @ $70 per Dash)
·     5 Dash proposal reimbursement
Total: 570 Dash

Note: Should any funding remain, we will apply it toward future infrastructure expenses and related taxes.

what are DashCoreGroup's ideas to get more adoption for Dash as a currency in the 2 or 3 countries that are experiencing a currency crisis?

@glennaustin
Was it really not possible to spread out this proposal with 142.5 Dash/month over 4 months?
Because if DIF is submitting another investment funding proposal in this cycle,
then congrats for defunding Dash Latam for a second month in a row.
Must be proud of that for sure, right?

DashNexus shows lower budget allocation numbers.
Looks like this age-old bug is unfixable here on Dashcentral.
But still, in case DIF choses to apply for another funding proposal in the October cycle,
this single payout Core proposal will leave very little funds for other applicants.

Why I voted no
DashForceNews does not cover the development of Evolution, at least on a monthly basis
The DCG product updates no longer includer updates on Evolution
Heidi does not cover Evolution
I do not have any source of information for Evolution

First, DashNews and Heidi do not work for DCG, and second, there's nothing to report on regarding Evolution. Voting is a privilege, please do some basic diligence for making a grossly uninformed vote.

Dash News / Heidi does not fall under this budget (Dash News have a separate budget).

Dash Evolution / Dash Core v1.0 is still in development and is scheduled for release on Testnet end of december 2019.

Two important pieces of information about Dash Core v1.0 were recentely released :

https://www.dash.org/forum/threads/dashpay-will-be-built-into-the-existing-native-mobile-wallets-on-android-and-ios.48201/

https://www.dash.org/forum/threads/dash-platform-side-chain.48396/

I dont really exspect much additional information about Dash Core v1.0 / Dash Platform, untill its release on Testnet in roughly two months.
