Update on Dash Nigeria Proposal Scope and KPI Tracking

Dash’s availability on exchanges, payment gateways, remittance platforms, and other businesses in Nigeria stand threatened by the misconception that Dash is a ‘privacy coin’. A clear example of this is that a partner exchange Roqqu (https://roqqu.com/) scheduled to launch Dash in the first week of the year paused the launch due to the Bittrex announcement https://bittrex.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360054393492-Pending-Market-Removals-01-15-21. We believe it is now pertinent to complete the Legal Opinion on Dash in Nigeria we started.

We are working with Infusion Lawyers to develop a legal opinion that will aid Dash’s classification as a utility coin in Nigeria. This is very important, especially given the Statement by the SEC Nigeria On Digital Assets And Their Classification And Treatment https://sec.gov.ng/statement-on-digital-assets-and-their-classification-and-treatment/. This is very important as it guarantees the continuous availability of Dash on Nigerian exchanges and businesses.

We’ve gathered from feedback received over our previous failed proposal to make the volume of Dash transactions on Dash supported platforms in Nigeria publicly available. To this end, we are launching a page that will contain the stats requested. The stats that will have various exchanges and volumes, data on remittance carried out successfully using Dash, etc. and the page will be available at https://dashnigeria.com/stats.

We have completed the technical integration of Dash into the following and will be launching them within this proposal:
Roqqu https://roqqu.com/ - A tier 1 Nigerian exchange with Dash integration on both web and mobile platforms
Cryptofully https://cryptofully.com - A remittance platform supporting only Dash and bitcoin on web and mobile platforms
Fliqpay https://fliqpay.com - A cross-border payments infrastructure for global businesses that enables financial institutions, fintech and international companies to make and receive international payments in multiple currencies securely

We will be rolling out a promotional campaign with Coinprofile and Cryptofully to enable users to win an amount of Dash after using Dash for remittances. For instance, users can win X amount of Dash after sending Y amount Dash in remittances. Dashwatch will verify data before we upload it on https://dashnigeria.com/stats.

Our Dash Africa Desk has been highly successful, earning us media coverage in top tier media platforms such as Cointelegraph, Bitcoinnews, BitcoinKE and others. We will be scaling this up increasing the press features of Dash going forward. We'll continue providing support for Dash users, merchants and partners and social media activities.

No vote from me, and I strongly encourage everyone else to vote no too. Dash is hemorrhaging market share and proposals like this just add fuel to the fire. They inflate Dash, cause downward selling pressure, and deliver to results or ROI.

If you care about your investment in Dash start being extremely selective in which proposals you pass. Down voting everything is a good place to start, then only consider upvoting a proposal that you strongly believe will pull us out of this nosedive.

Kindly donate to keep Dash activities running in Nigeria in 2021

We fell short of funding with 30 votes for January 2021 and are seeking your donations to keep being operational. Thus far, we have delivered on our goals and are on track to reach others. We wish to keep our operations up and running in January 2021. This will include the launch of Dash on https://cryptofully.com/ and https://fliqpay.com/ (Dash is live on both of them already), complete the legal opinion on Dash for Nigeria amongst others.

Stopping our operations will lead to a cease of support for our users and partners which will not be healthy for the long-term growth of Dash in Africa.

We are receiving donations at the same address as our proposal here:

We'll also appreciate your feedback on our proposal and activities.

Thanks.

Dash Nigeria needs 63 votes to be operational in 2021

We have integrated Dash into https://www.cryptofully.com/ (a remittance platform) and https://fliqpay.com/ (a cross-border payments infrastructure for global businesses that enables financial institutions, fintech, and global businesses to make and receive global payments in multiple currencies securely). Though Dash is currently live on both platforms, we have some obligations to meet before a public launch. Failure to meet these obligations might lead to Dash being delisted from the platforms. This proposal not passing will mean we have to pause our activities including our obligations to partners.

Another of our activities that will be affected is the creation of a Legal Opinion on Dash in Nigeria - We are working with Infusion Lawyers to develop a legal opinion that will aid the classification of Dash as a utility coin in Nigeria. This is very important especially given the Statement by the SEC Nigeria On Digital Assets And Their Classification And Treatment https://sec.gov.ng/statement-on-digital-assets-and-their-classification-and-treatment/.

Also, our speaking engagements such as Nathaniel Luz headlining the BLOCKCHAIN AFRICA CONFERENCE 2021 conference on March 18 https://blockchainafrica.co/speakers/nathaniel-luz/ will be affected. Do note that this event costs Dash $0.

Kindly vote YES for the Dash Nigeria proposal and let me know if you have any questions. Thank you.

I don't believe this PO has ever demonstrated results, voting NO as per usual, others should consider doing the same.

We continue to be the first stop for enquiries and support from potential partners, users and the Dash community regarding Nigeria.

This proposal not passing will mean we have to pause our activities including the scheduled launch of Dash on https://www.cryptofully.com/ and https://fliqpay.com/, the creation of a legal opinion of Dash for Nigerian regulators, and several other of our adoption activities.

Kindly vote YES for the Dash Nigeria proposal. Thank you.

https://coinprofile.co/ allows anyone to send Dash directly to a Nigerian bank account. This is a first of its kind as there's no where else in the world you can directly send Dash to a local bank account.

This integration has simplified the use of Dash for sending remittances to Nigeria.

In January, we will be launching the integration of Dash into https://www.cryptofully.com/ in January 2021 thereby exposing an entire new line of remittance senders and receivers to using Dash.

I would have liked to have seen a reduced ask in light of the rise in Dash valuation, and with our small remaining budget, I have to vote no on continued funding at this ask price.

Hello agnewpickens,

Our proposal was submitted using the 30 day Simple Moving Average price of Dash which was $85.57 at proposal submission. Any extra funding will be well accounted for in our DashWatch reports.

I say in good faith that we did our best to keep our ask this low - we even had to remove some items from our budget. One of this is the travel cost for the BLOCKCHAIN AFRICA CONFERENCE 2021 conference on March 18 https://blockchainafrica.co/speakers/nathaniel-luz/ where I will be speaking on Dash.

Kindly have another look at our proposal and budget and vote for us.

Thanks.

You have my support. Interesting stance of Nigeria SEC with regards to point C.

quote :

1.
The position of the Commission is that virtual crypto assets are securities, unless proven otherwise. Thus, the burden of proving that the crypto assets proposed to be offered are not securities and therefore not under the jurisdiction of the SEC, is placed on the issuer or sponsor of the said assets.

2.
Issuers or sponsors are expected to satisfy the burden of proving that the virtual assets do not constitute securities by making an initial assessment filing. However, where the finding of the Commission is that the virtual assets are indeed securities (not structured to be exclusively offered through crowdfunding portals or other exempt methods), then the issuer or sponsor must register the digital assets.

end of quote.

Maybe Dash Core Group Legal Department can provide your team with some assistance on the legal opinion why Dash does not fall under securities, and should be considered an utility coin.
