Proposal description

This is a cross-post from the Dash Forum

This proposal funds the Dash Core Team for the month of June - including all developers, administrative, and support staff - at market rates for base pay, excluding benefits or bonuses.

Because of the recent rise in the price of Dash, we are requesting a reduced amount for the June period, and will be relying in part on existing balances. The normal full run-rate costs are ~$219,000 including roles in the process of hiring.

One of the primary reasons for making a transition to market rates was to enable those working for the project to continue to do so continuously, and also to enable us to attract and retain new talent to continue scaling our operations. We simply could not continue bringing on new resources at market rates without first addressing the significant gap to fair pay for existing team members - the team that helped get us where we are today.

Why one comprehensive proposal for the existing team?

Core team salary proposals have been highly supported by the network. Continuing to break out individual budgets is time-consuming, costs additional resources (proposal costs), and seems to add little value given the current level of support for these expenses. If in the future more than 10% of the votes cast for core team salary are "no", I can solicit feedback on what the network would like separately voted upon, and attempt to provide the requested additional granularity in future budget cycles.

Requested funding is as follows for the June 4th budget cycle:
  • 1,719.36 Dash for core team salaries ($180,739 USD @ $105.12 per Dash)
  • 5.00 Dash proposal reimbursement
Total: 1,724.36 Dash

Note: Should any funding remain, we will apply it toward future core team salary expenses.

Greetings: Please tell us if any salaried Core members are also receiving funding from independent proposals from the treasury funding board.

If there are Core members who are receiving funding from the treasury funding board, please tell us how many salaried employees, their names, and the independent proposals they own and proposal funding amounts.

Voting yes of course!

BUT it would be nice having a breakdown in the description of how much goes to what. Please include this in future proposals!

Hard not to trust?? Listen you guys, I love you all a bunch, but trust is the last thing we should centralize.

I expect detailed financial forecasts and spending reports on the mid term.

You obviously got my yes vote here. However I think it would be really appreciable to have a proper breakdown. After all, you are contracted by the MN owners.

Voting yes, certainly.

Increasingly anxious to see a high-level full time chief marketing officer along with two to three data oriented ad buyers added to the core team.
