Proposal description

Update:
We are currently working on getting existing remittance and international payments companies to use Dash. Currently focused on the US and Canada corridor and will spread out to cover other corridors in the future.

One of the companies we are working with is MyCashEstate to achieve this in the US. MyCashEstate allows users to move funds out of Nigeria to invest in US with Dash. This proposal will help us work more on that.

1. Executive Summary

Over the last three months we have onboarded many merchants and consumers to Dash. We have continued our BizDev work even though we had to lay off part of our team due to the sharp decline in Dash price towards the end of our last proposal.

In the near future we will make sure Dash doesn’t suffer any regulatory risk in Nigeria, since Nigerian Crypto regulations are expected to be finalized by Q1/Q2 of 2020. We are in constant contact with regulators and policy makers to achieve this. This is a vital task as Nigeria is one of the biggest and most influential countries in Africa and has the potential to set precedence for crypto asset regulation throughout the region.

Because of the regulatory uncertainty many legacy financial services are concerned to integrate Dash at this point in time even though the interest is really high. We expect to close many high value financial services integrations after the regulators decision and are currently preparing an action plan to scale Dash in Nigeria in a meaningful way throughout 2020.

As Dash is still hard to understand and use today we have determined educational meetups as the primary way for marketing Dash before evolution. Attendees are increasingly recognising Dash as a good SOV especially during the present undervaluation when we explain the advantages of using Dash as money.

During the next three month we will therefore mainly focus on user activation, achieving regulatory certainty for Dash in Nigeria, business development via Nepsium, merchants, industry events, Dash help/support line, and social media.

We've also reduced our team salary/cost by 50% in light of increased demand on the treasury and we're asking for 1.74% of the budget this month.

2. Dash Nigeria Results
BizDev:
  • Dash integrated into kurepay.com.
  • Dash integrated into kurecoinhub.com.
  • Dash-naira trading pair added to coincola.com.
  • Dash launched on yellowcard.io (we have also convinced them to drop LTC, BCH and ETH).
  • Dash integrated at gigalayer.com.
  • Dash integrated into bitfxt.com exchange.
  • Dash integrated into quidax.com exchange.
  • Working with bitpal.africa for priority Dash Integration and launch in mobile app. (Dash already integrated into the Bitpal payment gateway API).
  • Partnership announcement:

 3. Proposal Scope
Consumer Activation
We'll continue to onboard new Dash users via our consumer activation strategy. This involves us holding events in collaboration with Dash Nigeria partners. Dash Nigeria partners are companies that have integrated Dash into their platforms/deal in Dash. One of such is https://gigalayer.com that sends out a promotional email of Dash to over 6,000 subscribers on their platform and also hosts a bi-monthly Dash meetup at their office.

This is a very cost effective means of reaching out to new users as it costs us $0 except for tips for new users which are usually between $1.5 - $3.

Financial Services Push/Intervention
We'll be approaching regulators, traditional financial sector players, government parastatals, academic institutions, etc. with our message at Dash Nigeria while distributing copies of our "Digital is the Cash" book freely to them.

This is a proactive way of engaging regulators et al ahead of the crypto regulations expected to be finalised by Q1/Q2 2020. They are planning on classifying cryptocurrencies as either assets or securities, which is not correct for Dash, as it functions as a currency.

Biz Dev & Integrations
We'll continue to pursue Biz Dev integrations via Nepsium. Nepsium is a Dash-fiat payment gateway founded by Nathaniel Luz, same founder of Dash Nigeria. It is an easy way to onboard more impactful financial services to Dash. Both teams will remain independent of each other.

Merchants
52, 56 and 60 merchants in November, December and January respectively. We will continue our merchant service program with consistent outreach in person as well as online support and engagement.

Marketing & Dash General Awareness
We'll continue to project the image of Dash in Nigeria in the most accessible non technical ways such as we have done in our academy & YouTube videos in Pidgin English.

Industry Conferences/ Events
We will attend blockchain, fintech industry events for the which are free of or have a low ticket price. We'll also try to get speaker slots and we'll not be paying for any sponsorships to minimize our budget request.

Dash Help/Support Line
More newbies and users keep reaching out to us with questions and issues that need support. These range from wallet issues, to buying Dash OTC, to shared masternode enquiries, to more education, merchant enquiries, etc.

Social Media
Continued marketing campaigns for Dash via social media platforms like Twitter, Instagram, Telegram, WhatsApp and Facebook.

Pilot program on Users & Consumers acquisition
This will produce a detailed document proposing ideas on how to strategically get our message out to onboard new users/consumers.

4. Why Vote YES?
Proven team:

We have been executing the proposed strategy already successfully for the last year. We have been able to constantly increase all relevant metrics: integrations, merchants, users, transactions and have recently branched out into engaging media partners.

Low cost:
We’re constantly among the cheapest teams in the category “General Dash adoption”. We believe to have generated a high return on investment for the DAO and are pushing to become even more cost efficient.

Consistent adoption:
We don’t promise the pie in the sky. We don’t expect you to pay us many months in advance. We work step by step, delivering new Dash adoption along the path of our strategy to full adoption. Support us and continue to see ongoing results month over month.

Nigeria is hungry for Dash:
Campaigns like #EndBankingFraud prove that Nigeria’s financial infrastructure is ripe for disruption. When we approach Nigerian consumers and merchants with Dash we are met with excitement about all the new possibilities Dash offers them. We’re introducing reliable payments, free “banking” infrastructure and economic cross border payments, capabilities that many Nigerians are experiencing for the first time and are reaping the corresponding strong results.

This tweet on a Dash Adoption cycle in Nigeria has over 9,000 impressions. Instagram video with over 11,500 organic views.

5. Budget
In depth budget
100.69 Dash per month for 3 months price @ 72.17USD 10/13/2019

Keep Dash Nigeria Afloat: A Call for Donations

Dash Nigeria has been recently defunded for the month of November 2019.

Though operating in a deficit, we'll like to continue our work for Dash this month, albeit at a reduced level, we are seeking 50 dash in order to cover absolute basics, such as the continuation of our helpline and support program for merchants and users, ongoing social media presence, office and administration expenses, industry events attendance and logistics.

We are receiving donations at the same address as our proposal here:

We'll also appreciate your feedback to building a Dashy Nigeria.

Hate to say it, but the hardest working team in Dash is the most unappreciated :( Come on, vote yes and keep them going! Dash has such a head start in central Africa, on a tiny budget and though it's a long haul project, Dash will one day reap the rewards of a Dash using public!

Voting a solid yes for this proposal. I've been consistently impressed with the level of adoption, hardwork and **leadership** that Dash Nigeria and Nathaniel Luz have brought to the DAO. Most people may not know this, but Dash Nigeria has been running for over 2 years now and they have produced dramatic results, despite being funded at less than a quarter of other popular but far less performant proposals. This is a blight on the MNOs that I think we should rectify. Dash Nigeria has gotten so many integrations, partnerships, daily activity and just buzz in general that I would be confident in saying that Dash's Nigeria community is one of the largest of any other alt coin's community in a single country.

As you can clearly see from Anypay's data, Nigeria consistently ranks in the top for Dash transactions month after month. Only USD and occasionally THB (Thailand) surpass it. Which means that Nigeria is the 2nd or 3rd most used countries for Dash payments and transactions. We cannot ignore this, this didn't happen by accident. This is the direct result of the work of Nathaniel and Dash Nigeria. As a network, it is our duty to support those proposals that are working for adoption and growth of Dash globally. Dash Nigeria has provided that growth in spades, even in the face of being defunded and attacked on both reddit and in Dashcentral. Dash Nigeria has proven to be a leading community, and we must reward that behavior in order to see it continue.

Our enemies and detractors, who I've already proven own masternodes and try to sow discord in order to give them cover for defunding our teams working to grow the DAO, have seen fit to claim that Dash Nigeria lacks whatever excuse they came up with that morning. The facts speak for themselves. The transactions, the partnerships and integrations and most importantly the growing community all need our support. Vote Yes! to show your support for the growth of the Dash network.

@nathanielluz can you point what 'integeration' was accomplished with coincola. As of this morning they have stated that you have simply listed yourself as the only individual selling dash in nigeria

Seems more like a marketing budget for Your project 'nepsium'

Thank you

We have started our partnership with CoinCola by integrating Dash-Naira as a OTC pair because OTC is the preferred way to trade cryptocurrencies in Nigeria. Coincola will follow up with a full exchange integration in the near future (mobile app).

Nepsium is a Dash focused but DAO independent project with a stand alone team and funding. The Nepsium payment gateway is the easiest way to interate Dash into payment services in Nigeria right now, that is why we won't ask for funding for most BizDev activities through the Dash Nigeria proposal anymore going forward.

Hello MNOs,

We are having some issues with claiming the proposal here on DC, but we hope to get it resolved soon.

Meanwhile, kindly read the contents on Nexus. Thanks for understanding.
