Proposal description

PROPOSED: To continue funding efforts by Amanda B. Johnson and PMBC to create positive initial impressions of DASH among a primarily North American, lay audience. Conversations are being initiated almost exclusively via a "What is cryptocurrency?" pitch, which leaves the opportunity to present DASH's particular benefits during the conversation.

(More frequent updates on this proposal on forum.)

COVERAGE IN LAST 30 DAYS

(Please note that the author from Inverse has been contacted with prompt to add title “spokesperson for DASH” to both pieces.)

COVERAGE ALREADY SCHEDULED FOR NEXT 30 DAYS

SPECIAL NOTE ON CYBER DAYS

Amanda has been asked to give a fireside chat about DASH at UCLA’s Cyber Days, February 16 – 18, hosted by UCLA’s Blockchain Lab. A giveaway preceding the fireside has been scheduled, in which up to 528 (seating capacity) of Cyber Days’ attendees will be provided with a DASH paper wallet containing ~$10, and given instructions on how to install a phone wallet to claim it. A brief explainer of what DASH is and where it can be spent will precede the giveaway, followed by an invitation to remain for the fireside chat.

Funds to cover both the giveaway and its administration costs have been added to the regular recurring costs of this proposal below.

Amanda is a Dash legend. I have always learn from her videos (Dash school) and use it to reach out to people out there. the last time I learnt just "can dash me $5" a better way to use Dash. Wish you good luck my mentor

Amanda, would you be willing to share your opinion about Dash's shrinking marketshare? Is your goal to work to reverse this trend or do you feel that this is secondary to something else?

Yes, that is a valid question.

Firstly, the goal is ALWAYS to grow market cap. So to answer your question, of course my goal is to increase DASH's market share.

Secondly, however, it's probably time to start differentiating cryptos by the type of their market cap. Because various crypto projects are skewing so far outside of payments that it's not even correct to compare them to DASH anymore.

So ask yourself this -- aside from the slowly-dying Bitcoin, is there any other PAYMENT-specific cryptocurrency with a higher market cap than DASH?

I think not.

The top-10 in market cap is riddled with testnet coins and science projects right now. When the going gets tough and the reaper comes to call, DASH is going to blow past them.... *in payments.* How long this market avidly continues to support science projects is anyone's guess, and it's not even a problem if it lasts forever. All that matters for us is getting more merchants set up to take DASH and more customers demanding to pay in it. Which we're already doing.

Thanks very much, Amanda. I think that's a good politically correct answer that will fly well on primetime and includes enough logic to satiate most.

I won't press right now for your real opinion on what to do against the likes of ltc or eth which are actually being used as hacked together non-science currencies.

And I won't play semantics too hard in identifing bch as a true ranking competitor since I like bch's people and dash's tech.

bch just like btc will fork many times over just like others. This thing of ours (Dash) is a perfect example of a very successful DAO.

Sweet coverage and an easy yes btw, but if you're going to be spokesperson in the big leagues you need to be able to address a simplequestion like this. "If Dash has such a powerful treasury, why is it continously dropping in marketshare and is there a reasonable plan or even intention to reverse that trend?"
