Proposal description

Poker players have been among the earliest adopters and users of BTC as an actual currency as opposed to simply an investment vehicle. Dash’s superior transaction speeds and consistently lower fees make it a better choice. Tens of thousands of players attend the World Series of Poker and millions more follow it online and on television. We love Dash and want to expose them to its benefits. We offer a promotional campaign at the World Series of Poker aimed at educating and exciting this audience about Dash.

Who We Are:

We are Jonathan Levy and Grant Denison, AKA The Poker Guys. You may remember us from our earlier successful proposal ‘Bringing Dash to the Poker World.’ We are joined by our good friend, Mitch Towner, a finance professor at the University of Arizona and winner of the 2016 World Series of Poker Monster Stack Tournament for $1.1 Million. Grant and Jonathan are professional poker players who have been creating popular poker videos and podcasts for over four years, building an audience of over 23,000 YouTube subscribers.

A quick note about poker players:

Poker players are well known for being among the earliest adopters of cryptocurrency. Unlike a large majority of the cryptoverse, they do not simply invest (although they do plenty of that and it dominates talk at the poker table these days), but they also actively use it to facilitate deposits and withdrawals from online poker sites, sportsbooks and casinos. Although many of them can speak knowledgeably about Bitcoin, almost none of them understand the incredible benefits Dash offers as a functional currency.

What We’re Offering:

We propose a Dash promotional campaign during the World Series of Poker to the players who attend as well as those who are interested and follow from home. This promotion would include:

1. Daily Documentaries: A daily 5-7 minute highly produced video from the three of us talking about our experiences at the World Series of Poker (WSOP), video from that day of us playing in poker tournaments at the World Series and us talking about (and breaking down) key hands that happened during the tournament. We will also have guests on which will include other poker influencers and famous poker players. We will have a border on the screen with the Dash logo and we’ll spend approximately 30 seconds during each video talking about Dash in an organic way e.g. making bets and paying each other in Dash. We think this will showcase the ease of use, speed and functionality of Dash.

We are talking to numerous video production companies about filming and editing this video each day. While we are YouTubers and produce several videos per week, this will be a high end professional level video series that is beyond our abilities to film and produce without hiring professionals. We will have a rotating crew to follow us around and produce the highest quality videos.

These videos will start on June 9th and will be produced daily until the three of us bust out (or win!) the WSOP Main Event which begins in early July. We plan to incorporate a number of events and features to generate excitement and interest for the audience at home and other media outlets at the World Series of Poker. These include:

-Live Dash tournaments: We will host at least two poker tournaments with Dash buy-ins to promote use cases. These tournaments will have Dash added to the prize pool to ensure we get a robust audience and will be featured in the daily videos.

-In-person giveaways: We will give away Dash branded ‘Win the Summer’ merchandise (hoodies and possibly hats) to colorful characters and well known players as well as any players that knock us out of a tournament (See ‘merchandise’). Our goal is to ‘coat the World Series in Dash.’

-Audience giveaways: There will be a series of fun giveaways where we give out Dash to viewers. Tasks will include finding clues within videos, downloading the dash wallet and interacting with us on social media.

-A transparent look at the finances from a month of playing tournaments including profit/losses. There is also a large side bet culture during the World Series and we will be making all financial bets in dash to show more use cases. In addition, we will have bets for larger tournaments where the loser will do embarrassing acts (such as play a WSOP tournament in a Dash branded gorilla suit!) that will be added to the videos and hopefully garner media attention.

- Conversations with famous poker players and influencers about how they are approaching and experiencing the World Series of Poker.  We've already begun contacting some players regarding their participation.

2. Weekly longer form podcasts where we can interact with the audience, go more in-depth on poker strategies and concepts referenced in the daily documentaries, discuss poker news/issues that inevitably arise during the WSOP, and answer audience questions. We also plan on getting other famous professionals to join as guests in order to build interest and grow the audience for the podcasts and videos.

3. Merchandise. It’s shockingly cold at the World Series of Poker and everyone needs to wear layers. We have designed hoodies to promote Dash at the 2018 World Series of Poker (see example in our video above). They will be adorned with the Dash logo as well as the phrase ‘Win the Summer,’ which we believe will resonate with WSOP players. We will wear these hoodies every time we play and give them out to players of note and those who knock us out of big events.

4. Becoming ambassadors for Dash to the poker community: We will promote our house as the 'Dash House’ and we will set up a time for members of the community to come ask us questions about Dash and poker. We will wear Dash-branded gear for all tournaments including in photos for media outlets.

Budget: 308 Dash over 2 months

  • Daily Documentary: 252 Dash
  • Podcast production 16 Dash
  • Dash branding: 4 Dash
  • Dash Merchandise 20 Dash
  • Dash Giveaways: 10 Dash
  • Dash proposal fee: 5 Dash

We will post all of our Dash campaign content in this forum as it comes out, on a weekly basis.

It sounds like a great market to tap in terms of publicity, and it seems like you're going to have a pretty big reach at the World Series. The budget is kinda tight this cycle, but I hope we'll be able to squeeze you in!

Yes, that's it. I don't know the numbers worldwide, but it's certainly in the millions. I imagine the U.S. alone will have millions watching WSOP events.

ROI for Dash? I do not see an ROI to finance this..
Thank you for you proposal.

Poker players are actually spedners of crypto as opposed to hodlers. We need to get in their faces. Once they realize Dash functions better than BTC as a currency, they should put heat on the poker sites to add Dash as a deposit/withdrawal option.

Doug Polk is an poker-crypto-asswhole. I can't overcome my prejudices for poker players unfortunately.
Say thanks to Doug for my no votes!

I was on the fence on which way to vote on the "Advertising Dash on Russian speaking internet" proposal. But now that I remember that Putin is a dick, I guess I have to vote no. Thanks for being a beacon of logic.
