Proposal description

As many of you know The Crypto Show has officially teamed up with Chuck Williams former lead UIX developer for Dash Core to bring Dash to the masses. The Crypto Show is moving out of the echo chamber of "Crypto Media" and onto major markets to reach actual new users.  We have been invited to join 4 major 50,000 Watt AM stations in four of the largest markets in the country.  We previously had taken on a new show in Phoenix Arizona that focused on an intro to Crypto.  We educated the listeners on general terminology of Crypto as well as wallet set up.  We utilized Dash and its features to introduce crypto to people.  Most of our listeners have no experience with cryptocurrency and we want their first experience to be with Dash.   We’ve already had success with meet-ups in the Phoenix area.  We included weekly informal meetings at a local pizza shop that accepts Dash.  We encouraged the listeners to come out after the show to meet us for a basic intro.  Our focus now insofar as terrestrial radio is with Salem Media Group. Aside from the Bloomberg Business audience they have several other types as well. In the coming months we will look at shifting to other markets to reach new audiences. One such audience would be Hawaii where Chuck is researching a plan for Dash outreach there.  Our current focus of expansion is the Spanish market in Miami where we hope to build on top of the fantastic work of the teams in Venezuela.

Expansion into Spanish Bloomberg Affiliate with Venezuelan Remittance Ads

We are excited to have the new opportunity on WKAT 97.7 FM and 1080 AM in Miami, adding to coverage in major cities across the country.  On these Spanish-speaking stations we will be running Dash ads in Spanish targeting Venezuelans for the idea of remittance. Obviously this would translate to the work in Colombia or any other Latam country as well.  The ads will be crafted and produced by Eugenia Alcala of Dash Venezuela to highlight them as a go to resource for "how to" information in Spanish. The radio broadcast coverage area includes Doral, FL which is known as Doralzuela because of its high population of Venezuelans.  The ads will direct people to Dash Venezuela as a resource for learning how to send Dash remittances to loved ones in Venezuela, supporting the thriving Dash ecosystem there.   The ads will also teach how to use the Dash wallets Uphold feature to make purchasing Dash easy for those at least with bank access.  Hopefully other on ramps will be available to those who might be un-banked. This is a great opportunity to help grow liquidity in Latam, so that it can be used by the nearly 2552 current merchants accepting Dash as payment.  If remittance payments can catch on because of the obvious savings they provide using Dash we can push for more Spanish speaking stations across the country.

It would be really helpful if those voting against this proposal would help us understand how we can improve here. The feedback loop is weak. How can we turn any of these no votes into a yes? Why leave over 500 Dash on the table this month?

There is a lot of unseen things we do behind the scenes that may not be widely known as well Chuck. Conference and promotion support we've added to a number of other proposals in the past. The spanish ads we're proposing here are actually to work in conjunction with the other proposals throughout Latin America. To try to add that Missing Link between them and Latin American citizens in the US. Aside from Dash Venezuela offering to do ads pointing out to use case in Venezuela Edward of Dash red has also offered we're agreed should I say to do the same for Colombia. Those offers extend to all of the Latin American countries who wish to contribute. This proposal does not allow for profit of any kind. January was not funded at all and we continue to advertise. Since November because of price drops I'm currently a little over $3,000 in the hole out of my own pocket. We're not asking for reimbursements on our losses we have to take the good with the bad.

Many thanks to those that supported us here and to those that didn't I hope we surprise you. Aside from what we have planned the Spanish radio commercials we plan on Outreach within the social media platforms and groups of Venezuelans in the US. This was kindly provided to us buy a Reddit member of the dashpay community. Our current Focus will be Florida and Texas.

Don't forget, they are also making systematic efforts to ramp up the remittance market to Venezuela and LATAM. They have identified the high concentration areas for VZ ex-pats and will direct their Spanish language ads there. More YES from me.

Over the years, I have followed The Crypto Show and I am very happy with their strategy and the way they have evolved. Unlike Dash News, they have reduced the length of their broadcasts and are now reaching out to new audiences beyond the crypto echo chamber. They also have the right balance, covering crypto in general yet championing dash.

Thank you for all you've done.

This channel blatantly promoted the proven fraud Craig Wright as "Satoshi".

I will vote no with all my 13 nodes and encourage everyone here to do the same.

This channel does not serve Dash and does not serve cryptocurrency.

I respectfully disagree. The Crypto Show runs ads for Dash EVERY radio episode (written and produced by us personally, with associated animations, to save costs - in service to the network).
We promote Dash with EVERY guest (staking our reputation, and turning away ICO money, and other advertisers, in service to the network). We vet EVERY project for impact (turning away many advertising dollars, including many known ICO Scams, and other questionables, in service to cryptocurrency). We very often publicly thank the Dash Masternode network for their support.

We have served Dash network DIRECTLY by paying for travel, expenses, and receiving no personal compensation while conducting interviews and displaying DASH branding at the following conferences:
- The North American Bitcoin Conference, Miami 2019
- IEEE Blockchain conference, Hawaii, December 2018
- CannMed, Los Angeles, 2018
- Voice & Exit, Texas, 2018
- Denver Startup Week, Denver, 2018
- Anarchapulco 2018, (& possibly 2019)
...and MANY more

I personally have never "blatantly promoted" Craig Wright, and I don't believe that Danny has either. Craig is a polarizing character, as is evidenced here, and this is a media operation intending to collect views. Sometimes that means having discussion with such polarizing individuals in the space. Such discussions should not be taken as promotions, nor a lack of service to Dash or the cryptocurrency industry.

I'm open to correction, and if you can provide evidence of such promotion, I will retract my statement.

Where are the statistics that suggest that the many tens of thousands -- has it reached $100k yet? -- that have been spent on sponsoring The Crypto Show have yielded anything even close to a return on investment?

This sponsorship has gone on for quite some time with no data showing that it should continue. It appears very much like a cost-sink, and I won't support it.

Sorry you feel that way. What we do goes far beyond the scope of the proposal.

It still seems reasonable to ask for concrete evidence/data/stats of results that would suggest a positive ROI for dash... voting yes BTW.

Here's the info from the different media stats coverage area demographics ect. which is partially covered in the link in the proposal titled Stations Info. I will get the stats for the spanish stations over the next few days. I was informed in Miami during our live broadcast by the sales manager at 880 WZAB our spanish ads will be running on 2 different spanish speaking stations in Miami.

Danny adds more to the Dash network most months than years of DCG's PR team, which costs 4 times as much.

Where are the numbers that support this claim?

Where are your website visitor metrics? Your URL referral click-through rates? Anything substantial to support your claim?

Very much like television & radio broadcasts, we can only give you the numbers that are reported on the various networks & digital outlets. What we can confirm as anecdotal evidence is that 880 The Biz likes our show so much, that they sponsored a booth at the Miami Bitcoin conference.

@Callallilly I'm sorry we don't have the resources to provide you all the metrics you're requesting. The Crypto Show is a nutritious part of a healthy crypto-diet. The access that we get to people demonstrates the influence of the brand.

I should add that Eugenia of Dash Venezuela is the only one in Latin America I have reached out to so far for Spanish radio ads. We could easily alternate spots in for Dash Text and Dash Colombia as well. Venezuela is an easier target but all of Latin America would apply as far as the listening audience on the spanish stations.

Danny especially (and now Chuck too) has done and continues to do more than most to promote and represent Dash to the point of being ubiquitous. Because the Crypto Show is crypto-agnostic and not Dash exclusive, I think it serves as a good ambassador for the branding and certainly has a much improved reach. While I'd like to see the network focus more on areas of the world that produce more tangible benefits to the network than the USA, if we're going to have a presence there, Danny's and Chuck's work serves that purpose well at an affordable price. Unless something related to the critical infrastructure of the network or Core's progress on Evo is at risk, I'll be voting yes.

Thanks still trying to work out the bugs in the font size but the gist of what's being added are commercials on Spanish-speaking stations in the Miami area. Unfortunately we don't have a Spanish affiliate in Houston. These two areas make up the largest concentration Venezuelans in the US. As described in the proposal Eugenia has agreed to help produce Spanish ads targeting Venezuelans to seek resources from Dash Venezuela to learn the ropes ongetting a Dash wallet and using it.

Yes, that potential for reaching other audiences than exclusively Western ones is definitely an additional boon for this and other proposals working in tandem. That was a great call, and I wish more proposals "cross-pollinated" in that way.
