As discussed on the forum 2 months back , i am very excited to inform that our website getfreedash.com is live after 2 months of hard work and spending $10,000 so far with 100s of users signed up from both zimbabwe and venezuela.
we are promising to bring in 400k users in 4 months, not just advertising to them , not putting facebook ads but actual sign ups and dash downloads.

why is this proposal so interesting ?
Acquiring a typical user usually costs $15-20 ( in US/ Europe), we are planning to cut this down 10 times by using two simple ideas , we are targeting countries where getting sim cards is not simple or free , there are mandatory identity verifications and cost of $2-4 dollars ( unlike in the west), secondly people in these countries are happy to sign up for say $1-2 . Employing these two ideas is game changer in user driven marketing which means we can scale our user base really quickly with minimal cost per user. This strategy doesn't sound sexy but this is what really works Unless you sign up at least 1% of a country population, your product doesn't go viral.

This proposal will basically jump start dash adoption in the countries we targeting -zimbabwe and venezuela. zimbabwe and venezuela currently have one of fastest depreciating currencies with people desperate for a stable alternatives. Both of these places have serious liking for cryptocurrencies because of crushing currency controls ( but have been forced out of bitcoin because of high fees). if this proposal goes through we are confident of signing up 400-500k users in next 4 months which creates a very strong root for dash to flourish in these countries.

I am a proud dash MNO like many of you, i own much more than 250 dash. we will writing a bunch of content and making some explainer videos related to what dash is , how it can help , how to set up a wallet, how can dash help in remittance, how dash can cut down costs for freelancers. Some tips regarding security and hardware wallets and any other issues we find useful for folks in these countries. we will send some emails regarding local dash events etc ( if they opt in for these) .

On the website we will clearly mention the details of local exchange details so people can use them to convert dash to their local currencies if required , however lot of people might just to keep dash as well.

This is exactly why we are splitting the payments across 4 months and should we fail to acquire 50% of the users in the first month's target we will formally request MNOs to stop funding us further.
why will people sign up just for $1 ?
The people in the countries we are targeting have been become very poor thanks to hyperinflation for them $1 is more like $10 so there is a strong motivation there, we are also giving $1 for referring friends. When you are referred by friends you are 10 times more likely to sign up than just watching an Ad on google isin't ?

I also think it is disingenuous to say "Risk free Earnings - Dash is the only major digital currency that offers a 7-8% risk free interest rate." Since this is out of reach of most people until fractional masternode shares, and even then I find it doubtful people will be able to participate without at least 5-10 dash.
Finally, How do you plan on advertising this to people?
As it stands right now, I have to vote no on this, but with the changes in messaging outlined above, and some clarification on advertisement this could easily be a yes.

But i strongly believe this will be a game changer in our marketing proposals
we have not included lot of features that we plan to integrate like partnerships with others etc and remember we need pay full salaries even if the work is not existent some days.
Now any unused development funds will be used towards Marketing towards the end, like i said we will provide complete details of spending end of every month.
So I understand you have plans for many new features and new partnerships with others etc that requires to maintain the full development team. Can you be more a little more specific what kind if features, partnerships and how they will be developed in the -backend- of the site, other than adding a banner? I like the plan and you make me curious :)
Most of the material regarding dash is useful to hardcore dash fans like crypto investors , which is not useful for normal folks.
we will writing a bunch of content and making some explainer videos related to what dash is , how it can help , how to set up a wallet, how can dash help in remittance, how dash can cut down costs for freelancers. Some tips regarding security and hardware wallets and any other issues we find useful for folks in these countries. we will send some emails regarding local dash events etc ( if they opt in for these) .

The campaign should easily tried at a smaller level like 50 dash, before asking for 1000 dash.. Cant really support this in current form..
with 50 dash you can probably create a website and enrol 1000 guys, its impact will be lost next month unfortunately , also please undertsand 1000 dash is spread over 4 months , its about 3.5% of our budget and MNOs are welcome to defund us next month incase we dont perform as promised.

1000 dash is a lot for something half cooked as of this moment that can be tried for 50-60 dash. Proposals rarely get defunded, it is very hard to keep track of passed proposals so community needs to decide on 1000DASH.
If you came back and asked for 50-60 dash, it might be different but I would have to stick to a Clear NO at this point..

Now the issue with trying with say 50 dash is this , we could sign up 2000 folks ( considering other costs) or so and its effect would almost nothing, so we need to try it with a reasonable amount 250 dash ( $125,000 ) per month to see reasonable results. just to be clear last month some 1250 dash went unused , this month it looks much more will be unused , i think it's worth trying 3.5% of treasury on a potentially game changer for the countries we are targeting.
Having said that if you feel we can improve the execution in any way we welcome those ideas.
I am a proud dash MNO like many of you, i own much more than 250 dash. Here's a cliche , it's better to own 1% of billion $ company than say own 100% of $1 company. if we manage to pull 500k users what do you think will happen to the price of dash, it will probably double( at the worst) , wouldn't it be better for me to double the value of holdings than have extra 250 dash at the same price.

With Dash, we have the ability to distribute the currency more quickly and more widely using the funding system in combination with people running proposals like this.
And if it doesn't go well the first month, we can de-fund it. We'd only be out 250 Dash for 1 month, and at least a few people would still have gotten their first Dash.
At least give this a shot! Even if it doesn't work out we'll still learn a lot. Let's do it!
For example the user must watch a 2 minute video explaining Dash to receive the Dash. Another example was Amanda gave out $5 of Dash to retweet a tweet, the user did a job and got rewarded. Just giving out free money isn’t the way to go, we should not become socialist.
I see no other downside, except the lack of escrow. Unless dashmaximalist is dishonest and takes the money and runs... however this is a tiny amount of money to burn an active MNO's reputation.
I would personally appreciate if you joined the Discord to allow for a more rapid back-and-forth interaction with community members who have questions. Could you tell us a little more about your history with Dash and your professional/career history? Have you run a marketing campaign before? Also, did you consider utilizing an escrow to increase masternodes' confidence in voting for this since it is a sizable amount?

i am a numbers guy, i am a data scientist with 10 years of experience previously worked with companies like Microsoft, UCL currently with RoyalMail , i also founded a start-up called Maptags in the past. I have extensive experience with Google Analytics( also certified) , user acquisition and utilizing marketing budgets efficiently. I have run 100s of campaigns on facebook and google ads and have achieved some of the lowest per user acquisitions costs
It is only 3,7% of our monthly budget and positive results could be immense. Let's give this guy a try and maybe this would naturally develop in something really big :)
But like you said ,if it works it will be a game changer for the countries i am targeting and we can use this technique for many more countries to come.
