Proposal description

Dash "Dashboard" -  Centralizing and measuring all of the data (pricing, transaction, user adoption) can only help you the MNO's understand the eco-system that you are managing!   More information is better!

This is more than just pricing charts and streaming data.  Being able to track, understand and measure DASH adoption and awareness is definitely in the scope of this project.   I should clarify that these are critical metrics to understand success.   This project is not just about price (that is just a single data set).    It is collecting that data AND transaction data (a single data set) and sentiment data (a single data set) and relating together to understand meaningful trends...    This is the centralizationcollection and analysis of all that data to bring forth trends and meaningful information  with insights.  Big Data, Machine Learning, Sentiment Analysis, Data Visualization are technologies/trends shaping the landscape today and the future.  Having a centralized repository will allow the DASH community to benefit and unleash these technologies for the benefit of the MNO's and community.   We need to be thinking about the community needs 6-12 months down the road.   As community custodians (or managers in any business entity), measuring and understanding what is going on is critical.  In some ways this is a no-brainer!   There is some great work on existing proposals being done with transaction explorers and visualizers, mining difficulty, pricing, etc...   This project is not intended to displace any of that work.

The first issue we all face the fragmentation of the data that exists in crypto ecosystem.  Data is silo'd EVERYWHERE.  There are sites like “CryptoCompare”, “CoinMarketCap”, “Live-Coin”, and countless others.   We each have our favorite exchanges that we log into every day.  All of them have some interesting charts, data and analytic tools.  But, if you are like me - you have 5 browser tabs open to access each site and navagating click bait, mazes of charts for obscure coins and advertisements.  All while wondering if I have to hit the refresh button to get to live data.   It’s a VERY frustrating experience and rarely gives me EVERYTHING that I am looking.   These websites have their own business models driven by ad clicks, sponsorships and subscriptions.  We are subject to their business models and if their teams want - the information may not be there tomorrow.
A second issue is some of the more advanced machine learning analytics come at a cost in the form of monthly or annual subscriptions.  Big data, machine learning and viewing real-time sentiment stats generally come at a cost.  And, this dynamic field is what is shaping the future!  Why should our community have to pay for this, if it can be built for them?

So, this is a proposal is simple – it’s a DASH Dashboard.  Centralizing the information and analytics in our DeCentralized world.  A single web-site to host DASH specific charts, analytics, graphs, etc... Let’s take the best out of each of these sites and put it on a single site for the community so we can unleash the modern day technologies of machine learning, A.I., etc...  No subscriptions, No Ads.  Just DASH specific analysis.  This is something no other crypto has and would be a huge benefit to the community and further differentiate us from the rest of the Crypto World.  Driving value back to the community is EXACTLY what I believe the Dash Treasury is set up to do.
Benefit to the Community:

All Users:Access to analytics that is often only available by subscription. Providing "Analytic of the Week" (i.e. Tip of the week) and "Suggestion Box" will allow the all important two way engagement with the community.  Collecting and storing DASH related data will allow the machine learning and A.I to start to evolve on this data set.   As important is having this in a single site.

Proposed Phases/Funding:Proposal: 60 DASH/3 months
Timeline:  3 Months

Month 1:   Research, Discovery and Data Modeling.  Identify data sources. Model the data from the top exchanges and Public API's.   Build a Data-Repository/Database(N-Tier) to store data.
, Architecting Repository Infrastructure (Cloud-based).  Once initial data models are complete, will build a cloud based database/infrastructure using modern day cloud technology/platform.  Provision, configuring and enable machine learning on social media feeds to generate real-time DASH sentiment.   Configure and build data feeds to ingest into models on a near real time basis.   Will build redundancy into different global data centers for disaster recovery as well as site performance considerations.
- 1 Cloud architect:  12 DASH.
- 2 Data Engineers: 25 DASH.
- 1 QC Analyst: 10 DASH.
- 1 Project Management: 8 DASH.
- Cloud Services (Database, Computing) - 2 DASH.

Month 2: Complete Data Models, Code API, Design Website.  Begin integration testing between the data feeds and building the business tier that serves up the aggregate data.
- 1 Cloud architect:  12 DASH.
- Website Design:  5 DASH.
- 1 Data Engineer: 12 DASH.
- 2 Software Developers: 20 DASH.
- 1 QC Analyst: 10 DASH.
- 1 Project Management: 8 DASH.
- Cloud Services (Database, Computing) - 2 DASH.

Month 3:  Bring it all together.  Code Front end website to display the analytics, dynamic charts, filterable tables, custom searches, etc…   Current and future community input will be requested to incorporate additional analytics that add value to the community.esting.Testing, Testing, Testing to ensure models don't break under load, changes to data feeds.  Work with each engineer team to ensure efficiency across team.
- 1 Data Engineer: 10 DASH.
- 1 Software Developer: 12 DASH.
- 1 QC Analyst: 10 DASH.
- 1 Project Management: 8 DASH.
- Cloud Services (Database, Computing) - 2 DASH.

Month 4-6:
- Cloud Services:  6 DASH.

Proposal Reimbursement:  5 DASH.

Future Phases:
  • Add multiple language support (i.e. Korean, Spanish, German, etc…).
  • User Registration so alerting can be enabled (i.e. "Send me alert if Sentiment Analysis drops below X%").
  • “Dash bots”/Machine Learning and A.I. to provide advanced analytics.
  • Everything is growing so quickly that there will me more data sources that will need to be incorporated.
Proposal Reimbursement: 5

Overages/Excess/Unspent DASH resources can roll forward into future development.

Total DASH: 180  (over 3 month development timeline)

Why me?  As a good faith first step, over the last few months spent time and money developing a “DEMO” version/Proof of Concept of the site that you can browse now -- to give this proposal more tangibility.  Above are 5-6 steps that will need to be completed to produce a professional and enterprise ready application.   With the green light, we are ready to take it from Proof of Concept to Reality.

It was important to me that when the proposal goes live that small percentages of each of these steps were completed to demonstrate the skill, dynamism and deliverability of what will be developed.  I encourage you to take a look.

Ultimately, I believe that this is a great use of the Treasury and drives value back to the DASH MNO's & community!

Voting NO on this. This looks like it's more for investors than anyone else with pricing and transaction data. Too many free sources of the same info. I just don't see the ROI for Dash.

@dashed - You have posted the exact same thing on several proposals. There were pre-proposals posted on this and the others and you said NOTHING about escrow. That is the time to speak up, I am sure you know. I am sure you also realize that a proposer loses the 5 Dash posted and has to put up 5 more Dash to change a proposal to an escrowed proposal, that is why it doesn't happen. In your haste, on one of the proposals you cut and pasted your escrow demand even though it was a one time proposal . You strategy is very effective at damaging and/or killing proposals and seems to be organized to do exactly that. You and another hack on these threads are doing your best to push down what appear to be otherwise good proposals.

In your view it must be good.. doesnt mean we all share the same opinion

And secondly escrow shall be mandatory for all new proposals from new users

You, of course were nowhere to be found to make constructive suggestions when this was in pre-proposal. 90+% of what you (Realmrhack) and @dashed put in these threads in negative. You both have an agenda to torpedo proposals.

Despite what you say, escrows are NOT mandatory, they are optional and should be decided on a case by case basis. That is how Dash core set it up and that is how it is. Many of the proposers are obvious professionals trying to do a great job for Dash and submitting proposals at great expense (5 Dash).

I wouldn't doubt if both you and dashed are Monero trolls trying to damage Dash by damaging the proposal process or if you both have some financial interest in the escrow process. It is so obvious that you both have a negative agenda since your negative posts occurs in more than half of the postings.

You both are now known as ambush FUD artists and your loyalty to the improvement of Dash is, at best, very questionable. Fellow MNO's do not fall for Realmrhack and dashed FUD.

I love the enthusiasm and the quality of the demo. However it seems like this is a product more useful to traders. It is a nice to have, but not nothing we should be spending the budget on now IMO.

The sad part is that if this does not pass, I vote it does not refrain you from submitting another proposal in the future. High quality proposals are welcome. Did you put a pre-proposal? I am curious if the feedback you got led you believe this would pass.

Thanks... This definitely fills a void (from many of the posts)... Ironically, with the price action, it will never be cheaper. If it ultimately does not pass this round, maybe can re visit later this year. There was some preprosal discussion (link above) and nothing but positive feedback...

I think the need for something along these lines will be important in the future, especially when we have more data pouring in from Evolution, from other projects we have funded, etc. It would be a boon to those of us who take the time to evaluate proposals seeing the fruits of decisions in real time. That could be extremely useful, but at this stage I feel as though it's just a convenience. At this point it seems like more of a convenience measure than something with a lot of utility because we just don't have enough relevant data to aggregate--or at least not enough useful data that can't be easily obtained elsewhere for free to warrant the monetary expenditure--but in the future we will. So for now I will abstain and see what the budget looks like at the end of the month, because I think it could be a very useful project in the future and would like to have the foundation already laid for when the rest of the data starts pouring in.

there is no real way to track price efficiently. Cryptocurrency price derives from personal beliefs. Everyone thinks the price of Dash is different, if you ever look at buy and sell orders on an exchange you can easily see this.

To think that the true price will be on your site is not going to happen. Sorry to say. Although I think you are totally capable of doing the job, I don’t think the job needs to be done.

Thanks for the Feedback... Not looking to predict price or anything of that nature... Looking to provide insight into the data about the price, transactions, eco-system, etc... Understanding all of the interactions is what would be in play.

We need more development on DASH technology. i think the 32k they ask is viable and more efforts on UX could set DASH apart. The MVP looks pretty good. I think this would be amazing to see this working.

Hi Dash-Boarder,

I really like that you have made a POC before making the proposal. I always like seeing this and think it gives your proposal extra credibility.

I guess I'm interested in hearing more about:

Your motives for getting into this project?
Why do you want to do it solely for Dash?
I imagine you would have plans to broaden this data collection out to the wider cryptocurrency markets eventually?
Do you have plans to commercialise your project by selling the data at any point?
What's the domain name you will be using on the live version?

Thanks,
Reply

Thanks for the support ageless... This is something that would be very cool to see live.

Yes, this would be soley for DASH...

There would be no commercialization of this going forward (i.e. break out for other crypto's). I am a huge advocate of DASH and have been for a couple of years....

Live version would be something similar to what we have now dash-board.info (re: dash dash board) :).

Ambitious yes, Valuable yes! The DASH community will get value out of this Now.
And, will have a platform to grow from when the market is more mature this in the next 6-12 months (see video) ... Starting now will give us a head start :).

It's a cool idea but it's way too expensive for right now. It seems more for traders and I am a holder. I would probably support starting something like this next year though.

The only sites I keep open are...

Masternode info
https://dash-news.de/dashtv/#value=1000

Dash Price
https://cryptowat.ch/poloniex/dashbtc/5m

btc price
http://bitcoinity.org/markets/bitfinex/USD

If I need more info I will visit...
https://bitinfocharts.com/
http://newbium.com/markets/buysell/DASH.html
http://178.254.23.111/~pub/Dash/Dash_Info.html
https://www.dashninja.pl/
https://dashvotetracker.com

It would be nice to have all that info in one place but i'm not sure this proposal covers all of that. It's not a priority for me though especially in a month where funding will probably be short.

Thanks mastermined... We will have most of what you mentioned... One important dynamic of the proposal is to take input from you and community to help shape the analytics, charting etc... There has already been some good suggestions that will be included.

Hi Dash-Boarder,

first of all, thanks for your proposal. I find it very interesting.

4 Points:
1. I opened the demo (dash-board.info) and my WOT starting to blart out a warning. Seems like someone reported the site in 2014:
https://www.mywot.com/en/scorecard/dash-board.info?utm_source=addon&utm_content=warning-redribbon
I know this has probably nothing to do with you. Just a friendly note. You might want to check that before going live.

2. I like the idea and would like to see 30 Day average prices in EUR or other FIATs. Or even a little tool for merchants to calculate prices. Are you planning to add this?

3. What is your exact timeline for completion? I can't find it here. Phase is a little bit too vague for me.

4. How does your future financing plan look like after the DAO funding?

Thanks in advance.

Best Regards from Germany

Hey AnCapital! This is just temporary URL registered last month to provide a proof of concept.

2: Perfect expample! Yes, one of the primary motivations for this is to allow (You -> MNO's + Community) to make these types of requests. There are many needs for this type of analysis/insights that is being unmet. This will be resource and outlet for everyone to request that. This one should be relatively easy to add :).

3: 3 Month timeline.

4: Hosting Costs should be covered for the first 6 months. Depending upon the types and amount of requests that come in, there may be a need for additional funding. This would be a good problem to have... Many request would indicated a need is being met and thus value being added.

Thanks for the quick reply.

more questions:
1. You wrote "Data engineer(s),Cloud architect(s),Software engineer(s),Software/website developer(s)"
Why so unspecific? For example: How many engineers will get paid from phase 1? 1,2 or 5?
Right now, I would have to assume that it's just you. I'm no expert in this field, but for one engineer that seems quite a hefty price tag.

2. In your video you state at 00:17 that you have a small software consulting company. Could you provide me (and others) with some references of your previous work?

Just to be clear, this is not meant to offend you, but I want you to bring me to a solid YES. Right now I'm on the fence.

[and it's AnCapitol with an O ;) ]

Thanks An, One engineer completed the proof of concept for the proposal. There will be 3-4 other engineers on the project. I can clarify that in the proposal. I will be the project management and assist with parts of each. Each phase will have likely 3-4 engineers working. I estimated the full costs and divided by the 3 month timeline to come up with the 60/month.

Providing references (sites) was a challenge due to most of this work contains private data for private enterprises. We knew this going in (and address in the video). It was a driving reason to delay the proposal, and go ahead and build the proof of concept prior to overcome that restriction.

I understand that your past work might not be shareable.
I can look past the references if you could clarify your proposal and introduce us to your team and a company website.

Its a proof of concept to demonstrate that we have the skill (and will deliver) I have 2 engineers already on "standby". Please appreciate their anonymity. I would appreciate your vote AnCapitol - thanks for helping with the proposal! This is going to be really cool project for everyone.

Yup we get all these metrics already for free.

This doesnt bring much ROI to new entrants which is the primary function of the treasury

Thanks RealmrHack and Schnuppdog... The point will be to consolidate them into a single site - this will greatly simplify everything. Also, alot of the metrics are not free and providing them to the community at no cost is a huge value add. Thanks for the input - I appreciate it.
