Proposal description
Many thanks to the Dash community for supporting the Dash.red project from September 1 to November 30. This proposal requests three months of continued support. The Dash.red project focuses on promoting Dash to people in Latin America. Important links:
How we have performed over the past three months:
With continued support from the Dash community, we will work to achieve the following goals in December, January and February:
How the dash.red project benefits the Dash currency and Dash community:
Thank you,
ec1warc1
- Our webiste: https://dash.red/
- YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/dashred
- Twitter: https://twitter.com/dash_red_games
- Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/dash.red.games/
How we have performed over the past three months:
- To make it easier to present our accomplishments to you, we have created a video series called "The Dash.red MNO report" – which you can find on our YouTube channel. At the time of writing this proposal, we have created 8 episodes. Please review these videos as they present our work week by week.
- Dash awarded as promotion to players on the website thus far: 26.9 Dash at the time of writing, 26,900 transactions – approximately 350 transactions per day, and currently the average transaction amount is 90,000 duffs. Up-to-the-minute statistics are available at https://dash.red/info
- Blog Posts in Spanish and English are available on the website. We will have 6 completed articles in Spanish posted by the end of November which will meet our goal, 5 are already published.
- Security and stability: We have improved our website security tremendously. We have upgraded the database server one time, and the web server four times. The servers can easily handle a 100% increase from current traffic without a hic-up and this has been tested and proven.
- Viral marketing: We created our first marketing campaign, "Mes de Amor y Amistad", before the website had security features in place. It blew up with too much traffic and people creating multiple accounts. Nevertheless, the website has thrived and we have developed more secure methods of marketing.
- Meetups in Colombia. We promised one meetup and we have completed 4 (2 in Medellin, 1 in Pereira, 1 in Bogota), all documented on Twitter. The costs for travel and lodging were met by our last proposal. Our meetup in Bogota achieved 31 visitors and a tremendous amount of positive feedback.
- Captcha game: rolled out in September with security improvements added in early October.
- Visit Reno, NV to document the Reno Air races. Completed with videos on YouTube. We have ties to the Dash Racer and we expect to create more videos as we receive media from the Dash Racer media team.
- Interviews with other YouTubers
- Promoting Dash and strengthening ties to businesses in Colombia, especially compudemano.com and criptostore.co
- Working with two General Bytes ATM owners in Colombia to configure for Dash
- Promoting Dash through other channels on YouTube, specifically Sociedade Bitcoin Br.
- One educational video created by Wilmar: How to use Coinomi Wallet, with more to come.
- Garbanzo game on YouTube, our most successful YouTube interactive game to date.
- Guess the card game on YouTube, recently completed.
- HTML5 Banners presented on dash.red linking to dash.org and dashforcenews.com
- Amazingly cool shirts with embroidered logo we use in our presentations and interviews.
With continued support from the Dash community, we will work to achieve the following goals in December, January and February:
- Funding for the dash.red website and its continual promotion.
- Improvements in SEO for dash.red
- Continued exposure on Youtube, Twitter and Facebook with similar content to what we have done so far.
- Contracting out our Facebook administration to Luisa Restrepo to make the Facebook page more attractive and more continuously updated
- Contracting out our reach to the Brazilian community to Davi Oliveira
- A new Facebook game similar to those we have completed on YouTube.
- At least 2 meetups in Colombia between December 1, 2017 and February 15, 2018.
- Paula and Edward will attend the 2017 Latin American Blockchain conference in Bogota, December 4 and 5. We will create video content and network with others to grow the Dash community in Latin America.
- Paula and Edward will attend Anarchapolco in February 2018.
- NEW! The Dash.red Certificate! Certificates will be ready for testing in real promotions before January 1, 2018. Certificates will allow us to give away Dash to every member of a large group of people and prevent loss. Certificates will have a code that will allow a person to redeem for immediate payment on the Dash.red website. If this program is successful, we hope to offer it for little or no cost to others who will promote Dash to groups of people.
- Continued Blog entries with the following goals:
- 6 new blog posts in Spanish before February 15, 2018 (for a total of 12)
- 4 new blog posts in English before February 15, 2018 (for a total of 4)
- 2 new blog posts in Portuguese before February 15, 2018 (for a total of 2)
How the dash.red project benefits the Dash currency and Dash community:
- The Dash.red website offers anyone the opportunity to try Dash Digital Cash. We intend to make Dash the first and best cryptocurrency experience for everyone.
- To be trusted advocates for Dash in Latin America.
- Lower the average transaction amount on the Dash network so that Dash becomes a digital cash and not just an investment vehicle. This is already taking place as we complete over 350 transactions per day, each of which has a value under $1 USD.
- Increase the overall number of transactions on the Dash network.
- Get people accustomed to thinking in duffs
Thank you,
ec1warc1

Discussion: Should we fund this proposal?

Thank you for making this possible!
Are these trips founded by the proposal as well?
How does this content improve the Dash network value?
The network it is made of more than Masternodes. And the answer must be clear as it can be, i guess.
20k usd is a lot of money here in Colombia, it is more than an average programmer (software developer) makes in a year.
The trip to Las Vegas was paid for by our last proposal, and it was listed as part of the proposal. We visited Las Vegas on our way to and from the Reno Air Races from Medellin, Colombia. Sharing our experiences with our audience is part of what we do, and there are many more examples on our YouTube channel. We believe this adds value to Dash.
I will gladly share an accounting summary to any verified MNO who requests it. Paula has done an excellent job of keeping track of income and expenses. I believe most MNOs will find themselves satisfied with our regular video reports and the fact that the largest expense we have is giving away dash on our website: 28.71259263 Dash given away to date in 28871 transactions. This does not include promotions completed off of the website.
Regarding salary, I had a very comfortable job with a multi-national software firm, living in Colombia, and my annual salary and benefits were similar in value to what I make with Dash.red. I left the company in good standing on July 31, 2017, with an invitation to return as an employee at any time.
I never charged the Dash community for all the work that went into creating Dash.red in the 15 months prior to its launch. All of that work and cost of development, licensing the games, and hosting was covered by me in full. Just visit the website, look at it and tell me what you think! I am very proud of the work.
I believe we provide the Dash community a great value.

Is it just me?
Yes it's free giveaway... And it is all traceable! And it is exclusive Dash! And it works already. And it goes into real distinct wallets (not paper ones)!
50 New users a day, 7761 new wallets out of total 11393 users, not -yet- registered to download funds.
That's a smashing 68% conversion rate! Very impressive numbers!!!
Finally my question, are you ready to go viral and send out some big d's?
1. a very exciting YouTube contest that will allow up to 100 winners
2. a wonderful Facebook contest, that I must admit is Luisa's idea (go Luisa!)
3. SEO for the website.
What is holding us back? Website security is now rather strong, but it takes human effort to support it and I am the one who does it. If we don't support it continuously, people will find ways to abuse the system or the system will block accounts that should not be blocked. I think we are ready to support a 50% increase in traffic on the website, as long as it is good traffic, meaning people sincerly interested in Dash and wanting to win a little extra in their spare time. The bad traffic from people with improper intentions is what takes up so much of our time. Fortunately we are improving our ways of dealing with it.
Thank you so much for your comments and questions.
As a 'normal' user I wouldn't know how to play more than one game at a time, that's the great thing about your strategy.
But I do have some APM expertise (open up black box; monitor in real time, without code change, every individual end-user running object level methods with its captured arguments and take automated action, etc) that could come in handy, if needed. What platform are you running?
I loved your channel, subscribed. Thanks Edward!
While you do a lot of other things I don't mind paying for the website should not continually require funds from the network.
If the day comes that the MNOs of the world vote against our project because they do not want to fund our promotional giveaways, our project will be finished and the website will be taken down. I hope that MNOs understand how we feel about Dash, the pride we get from working for the community and the fact that we don't request more funds than we need or deserve.
Thank you for asking!
But if this is more like a faucet why even have the games at all? I guess to keep people coming back?
Maybe I didn't pay enough attention to the first proposal but it looked like you wanted an investment to build up your game website that would only use dash. And not a dash faucet that just happens to use games to attract people.
Not sure I like it being a faucet cause that means we need to fund it continuously. If it where a gaming website that makes money only an initial investment would be required.
Dash.red gives people an opportunity to own Dash and to learn about Dash that would never have that opportunity otherwise.
The dash.red website is a cornerstone of our promotional efforts. We use the website name and logo to affirm our identity in our other promotions for Dash Digital Cash.
