This proposal focuses on continuation, and improves by seeking the automation of payment processes in parking lots with Dash Digital Cash and the continued growth of one of the projects that we consider may be more important on the actual adoption and usefulness of Dash in Venezuela, Latin America and, hopefully, in the world.

In Venezuela, communications failures and blackouts mean that transactions with traditional payment methods cannot be completed many times, in addition to suffering from a chronic shortage of cash and in which cards are one of the means of "most used" payment. In shopping centers, parking lots and other shops, long lines are observed, carts filled in supermarkets abandoned in the boxes and rows of annoying people are observed daily in almost every state of the country.

After 3 months operating to expedite parking payments, we have understood details of why Dash has a fundamental role to play in the Venezuelan economy as an alternative to the economic conditions that the country is going through.

The need for payment methods in shopping centers and parking lots to be fast, easy, uncomplicated and secure leads us to shape this “DASH MALL AND PARKING” project in order to provide an alternative that really works.

Dash Mall and Parking will continue to work by creating closed ecosystems where Dash serves as a payment solution, taking as an entry point to the ecosystem to solve the parking payment problem, and from there growing to become a favorite option within the ecosystem, with the improvement of that in this new stage, we are incorporating a variant to test, with the intention of achieving scalability and eliminating human interaction: In at least one of the operational parking lots, we will deploy a model in which sales points will be installed that will recharge Dash to NFC cards as well as mobile devices, located in each parking lot by the box office staff. For this, the parking managers will receive training to be able to manage transactions with Dash autonomously, only the Dash Mall and Parking staff will visit each commercial premises with a periodicity of 15 days to supervise the operation of the system, provide continuous training and technical support, if necessary.

This need will allow us to make alliances with the teams that operate in Venezuela: being in the western region of the country and being the only ones that operate in Mérida, Zulia, the Andes, having the possibility of complementing the work in the rest of the country, taking as a reference our current operating values:

https://i.imgur.com/P0wPY8I.png
It is necessary to point out that the valuations shown in the previous graph are based on the operation of the project in two shopping centers in Mérida, specifically the C.C. Millenium (50 stores) and the C.C. Pie de Monte (90 stores), in both cases all businesses have a commercial register, that is, in 100% of cases. On the other hand it is important to highlight that in the case of C.C. Millenium records a rate of 3,200 customer visits per month on average of which according to data provided by the condominium approximately 75% use the parking lot; while in the C.C. Foot of Monte such indicator amounts to 5,400 visitors of which 71% park their vehicles in the parking lot of the building.

The Dash Mall and Parking system will operate under a model in which sales points will be installed that will recharge Dash to NFC cards as well as mobile devices, located in each parking lot by the box office staff. For this, parking managers will receive training to be able to manage transactions with Dash autonomously, only Dash Mall and Parking team will visit each commercial establishment with a periodicity of 15 days to supervise the operation of the system, provide continuous training and technical support, if necessary.

In the beginning, shopping centers are urged to keep their income in Dash, however, they can be converted to any currency, such as Bolivars, US Dollars, Euros, among others. Basically, the convenience of using the Dash system is based on the ease of connectivity, because the points of sale only have to scan the NFC card chip in order to terminate the payment, being an easy, alternative, fast payment method, functional and practical.

It was possible to identify that at a national level there are a total of 438 shopping centers whose physical characteristics have a candidate parking for their application distributed as expressed by means of the following graphic, it is important to emphasize that only shopping centers with their own parking lots were considered, therefore They are suitable for applying the Dash Mall and Parking solution.

https://i.imgur.com/SyOMiiG.png

As an added value, the Dash Mall and Parking systemaims to create a comprehensive experience within the Shopping Centers based on
the number of stores that also decide to implement payments with the Dash cryptocurrency so that parking users feel increasingly familiar with the system having to use this payment method more frequently, which would favor an increase in the amount of transactions as well as in the number of users trained.

DELIVERABLES
- Dash Automation as a payment method in the 3shopping centers where Dash Mall and Parking is applied, with an exclusive POS for DASH, enabling the P2P model so that users of parking lots and shopping centers can acquire Dash safely, legal and convenient.
- On average 1500 transactions per month.
-Implementation of the Dash Mall and Parking card
-Advertising inside and outside the mall and at theticket office
-30% of the commercial premises accepting Dash aspayment method outside the parking lot.
-2 Dash Day per month
-2 Meetup per Month

Cost Breakdown
We have created a minimalist budget that allows us to meet significant objectives while positioning the Dash Mall and Parking organization to achieve a broader agenda in the coming months. The budget assumes a Dash price of USD $70 with a total required amount of USD $5186

Thanks to automation we wereable to make an adjustment in the prices of salaries in addition to lowering their costs, not including infrastructure expenses since we have them in  shopping centers where we have a presence of our team.

*Clarification statement on Dash parking proposals for this month*

We would like to ask Masternodes to vote for this proposal: https://www.dashcentral.org/p/dashmallandparkingcontinuedgrowth
and allow us to expand into 2 additional malls for a total of 5 Dash ecosystems and a target of 4500 TXs per month.

There might be a small confusion on why there are two proposals, and this is the result of last month’s voting cycle, when we did not get approved, and after speaking to several members of the Dash community we believed the reason for the lack of votes was that we were increasing the ask in order to grow into more ecosystems, and the tight budget did not allow this growth at the time being.

Having understood the low-price reality, we submitted a new, lower ask proposal in the first days of November -DashMall automation- in which we target to maintain operations within the current 3 malls.
But a day after submitting the new proposal, we received positive votes on the old proposal, which is approved as of today, so we wish to maintain this option, as it is the one that will allow us to deliver more value to the Dash network.

So in short, we provided two options for Dash Masternodes to vote on:

-Option 1: Grow the DashMall into 5 ecosystems with a target of 4500
transactions per month, 5000 Dash wallets and 100 Dash enabled
merchants in them. -Which is our preferred option, and the one we
ask to maintain support for, given it has a larger, positive impact on
Dash.
-Option 2: Sustain the minimum operations in the current 3 malls with
3000 transactions per month, 3 thousand wallets and 60 stores in
them.

We will work on automating processes and a self-sustainable business model, in order to be able to scale in an efficient way, either option that is approved, and we’d like to apologize for any confusion this might have caused.

Thank you for your time and please let us know if you have any recommendations or comments!

I would like to clarify for MNOs. if you wish to vote for DASH Mall Parking project, including their automation plan, and their modified business plan to generate revenue from the parking payment solution. Please vote on the proposal given on this link: https://www.dashcentral.org/p/dashmallandparkingcontinuedgrowth

This team already had enough votes to pass on this funding cycle on their last proposal but due to a miss communication issue ValenciaDash had requested a downvote by mistake which caused them to lose votes on a proposal that was already passing with enough votes.

Yoana please take more care before posting comments in your proposals. It's clear MNOs wanted your proposal to go through but if the instructions are confusing they will not know which proposal to vote, or the votes will be split between two proposals and you may not get either of them. Because the other proposal had enough votes it is clear the MNOs wanted that proposal to go through.

<Update on how this project is progressing>
The team have been modifying their business plan based on my feedback and that from Ernesto Contreras and they are now testing a way to generate revenue from this new plan. This will include DASH payment cards and the EletroPay terminals. I have had regular discussions with Ernesto on how we could improve the DASH Mall & Parking plan further so that they do not just generate revenue but the ultimate goal is to develop a model for sustainable revenue. However please note that we have not yet worked out a definitive plan for sustainable revenue yet - only the first stage of how to generate some revenue and how to make the payment process a more automated process. Please understand that it takes time to try different monetization models to find which one will work best and this team only have a few months of experience. In addition they kept working even without funds. The teams need time to test out the different models, tweak them and find one that works best. If the model works then it will be tried out on the further malls, and if all of those are successful we would need to work out how to scale the solution to all the malls in Venezuela with a parking problem.

Therefore in summary. MNOs please vote for their previous existing open proposal on the link below which already had got enough votes to pass but due to a communication issue lost some votes due to an mistaken instruction to downvote: Here is the link again for your votes. https://www.dashcentral.org/p/dashmallandparkingcontinuedgrowth

Hi agnewpickens, thank you for your comment!

We would like to ask you and the rest of the Masternodes to vote for our older proposal: https://www.dashcentral.org/p/dashmallandparkingcontinuedgrowth
this will allow us to expand into 2 additional malls for a total of 5 Dash ecosystems and a target of 4500 TXs per month.

Even though we submitted a lower ask proposal, the original one is already on the approval threshold and it is the one that will allow us to deliver more value to the Dash network without risking defunding due to this confusion (We posted another message with details on why it happened).

This option will allow us to: Grow the DashMall into 5 ecosystems with a target of 4500 transactions per month, 5000 Dash wallets and 100 Dash enabled merchants in them. -Which is our preferred option, and the one we ask to maintain support for, given it has a larger, positive impact on
Dash.

We will still work on automating processes and a self-sustainable business model and are open to any suggestions you might have.

Thank you for your time and please let us know if you have any recommendations or comments!

As there are now two budget proposals of you, i'm going to vote NO on this budget proposal and keep my YES votes active on your other budget proposal (https://www.dashcentral.org/p/dashmallandparkingcontinuedgrowth) as suggested by yourself and DeepBlue.

Can you clearly state which one you want upvoted and which one you want downvoted? Or are you now trying to get both passed?

A few days back, the PO wanted the other one(128 Dash) downvoted but now it seems that they have gone back on that and want this one downvoted.

@ValenciaDash We have already clearly stated what they need to do. Can MNOs ignore ValenciaDash's comments. It is clear now that ValenciaDASH is trying cause confusion and lose votes for this proposal. Just ignore this user.

MNOs if you want to vote for DASH Mall Parking as stated on my message below Vote on the following link only: https://www.dashcentral.org/p/dashmallandparkingcontinuedgrowth

And ignore all messages from ValenciaDash from now on.

Hi Valencia Dash, thanks for taking the time to ask about our proposal,

We would like to ask Masternodes to maintain support for our older proposal -DashMall continued growth - and allow us to expand into 2 additional malls for a total of 5 Dash ecosystems and a target of 4500 TXs per month.

This confusion is the result of last month’s voting cycle, when we did not get approved, and after speaking to several members of the Dash community we believed the reason for the lack of votes was that we were increasing the ask in order to grow into more ecosystems, and the tight budget did not allow this growth at the time being.

Having understood the low-price reality, we submitted a new, lower ask proposal in the first days of November -DashMall automation- in which we target to maintain operations within the current 3 malls. But a day after submitting the new proposal, we received positive votes on the old proposal, which is approved as of today, so we wish to maintain this trend and be able to deliver more to the Dash network.

So in short, we provided two options for Dash Masternodes to vote on:
-Option 1: Grow the DashMall into 5 ecosystems with a target of 4500
transactions per month, 5000 Dash wallets and 100 Dash enabled
merchants in them. -Which is our preferred option, and the one we
ask to maintain support for, given it has a larger, positive impact on
Dash.
-Option 2: Sustain the minimum operations in the current 3 malls with
3000 transactions per month, 3 thousand wallets and 60 stores in
them.

We are working on automating processes, and have a target of a self-sustainable business model, in order to be able to scale in an efficient way, either option that is approved, and we’d like to apologize for any confusion this might have caused.

Thank you for your time and please let us know if you have any recommendations or comments!

Dash Merchant Venezuela already signed up tons of merchants, and they barely got used. So why would signing up these 5 malls (100 merchants) to accept Dash get actual usage?
Reply
4 points,4 years ago
Hi Currency_use_case, we believe the teams that on boarded merchants did a good job to start Dash adoption and awareness in Venezuela but missed a key element in their strategy:
*Allowing people to acquire Dash with an easy method.*

With our Dash mall project, our ecosystems include a method for people to acquire Dash, both in a P2P enabled way and also by our relationship with the official crypto ATM in the city (Panda with their XpayCash product), so now people are getting Dash in an easier method.
So what we are seeing is people are motivated to buy Dash in order to pay their parking lot and avoid the long queues, and as we add merchants the utility of Dash increases within the ecosystems and we are seeing more usage in the stores within the malls ecosystems.

The next step for us is to add more services and product options within the ecosystems so people use Dash beyond the parking lot and that is what we have seen in the past months as about 300 of the 2000 transactions happened outside of parking lot usage.
The idea is that people will be able to acquire Dash and then go to these malls as Dash destinations and solve all their payment problems, and that will increase Dash usage and retention amongst users.

Please let us know if you have any other comments or questions!

@Currency_use_case, very good point you have raised. The main difference here is there is a real use case for DASH in the malls solving a real problem of paying for parking. Without the DASH payment system there are problems with people paying to park their cars due to issues with the payment systems. Therefore everyone visiting the mall in the car now has a simple payment system and can park their car quickly and efficiently if they use DASH. This exposes large numbers of people to using DASH to solve a real world problem - parking. With DMV there was no specific problem to solve that was obliging people to use DASH. Secondly since people are getting exposure to using DASH to pay for their parking and seeing how fast and efficient is if the shop owners in the mall also start to accept DASH. People would the be more willing to try and use DASH to pay for goods and services because they've seen how good it is to pay for their parking. In addition in a Mall there is a focus of a large number of shops all in the same building. This means that as people walk around they will see many shops all together in the same space accepting DASH as a payment solution which is social proof - rather than random shops in a street which may or may not accept DASH.

However you are quite right to raise this point. We will not know for certain if people will actually start using DASH more in the shops in the Mall until the shop keepers are all signed up with DASH and people get used to using DASH first for their parking and then we will see if they use it for the shopping. Once their DASH card is charged up they can add more money to pay for goods and services and since DASH is more stable than the Bolivar people are likely to do this.

The key point with this project as opposed to signing up merchants in a street is a real use case of DASH solving the parking payment problem underpinning this project for many people to use DASH at low entry cost.

I can confirm that Yoana has sent me the first draft of their business plan for review today. There is quite a lot of information in this plan so I will need some time before I can give feedback on it. I'm also CEO of my own business so I have limited free time but I will work on reviewing it as soon as I can. There is some sensitive information in the plan so we need to figure out how to present this plan without giving too much away to potential competitors.

It took ~2 years of DAO spending in this country, but we finally have a business (or two business--two parking lots) where Dash is actually being used in good #'s.
This could easily be the most effective project we've ever had in this country

This project as a whole has great potential because it is solving a real world problem and it is in a microenviroment. However Yoana needs assistance with putting a decent proposal together because the work I know this team has done behind the scenes is considerable and it is not coming across in this proposal. In addition the details of the proposal are not present once again making it difficult for us to understand how our investment money will be used.

Yoana you need to focus on what you will be doing in this proposal and how our investment money will be used . Not about an general interview on LatAM which has nothing to do with your proposal. The interview with Rodrigo is useful, but that video should be "supporting information" and be placed below your description of your project which should come first. The info graphic is good but it does not explain your proposal and what you plan to do.

I have been giving some advice on this proposal behind the scenes however I've been speaking in Spanish so maybe the team has not understood clearly everything I said. I advised this team to instead of expanding to other malls as they had originally planned, instead to focus on fully automating the process for the two parking malls they have. In this way they can scale up the project without needing more people. I gave some suggestions on how the processes could be automated with a DASH card and payment terminals. However I do not know how these are intended to be used for this proposal or how many will be used. Therefore I have some questions about this proposal:

Yoana can you answer each of these questions, point by point. i.e. in your response make sure you put the same number before your reply so that I can easily see the response to my question. When you answer these questions please ensure that you have actually answered the question and not given a general non specific response. Without this information MNOs will find it hard to make a decision about your proposal because we do not know how the money will be spent or what the vision is for this project.

1. I had requested on your past proposal for you to present a clearly written out plan for your project however you have not yet done this. Can you explain why you have not presented a this plan yet?

2. Give a complete itemised breakdown of all costs for this project so we can see exactly where our investment money is going.

3. How will the DASH payment card work with the parking and the malls?

4. How many payment cards will be used on this trial?

5 . Will customers have to buy these payment cards?

6. Can the cards only be used with terminals or will they also work with normal NFC enabled phones?

7. Can you explain in detail the automation that you are putting in place and how it is different from what you were doing before.

I have many more questions but I will post them after we get the responses to these. Please make sure that when you reply you preface your answer with a number that corresponds with the question number. This makes it much easier for me to see your response to the question asked.

For 15k we could have a quarter of brazils parking infrastructure which by GDP and other data is far greater economically and population wise in all of Latam

Perhaps the dao members at large look within our community to see these potential opportunities

Rodrigo from dash brazil his partner runs significant amount of automated parking machines

Which could be used for this project starting from scratch is just not reasonable given the low price of dash

Would much rather approach a known member in the community who could use these very funds more effectively and in measurable way

I also would encourage you to check economic data such as gdp purchasing power inter alia of latam countries and you will draw an identical conclusion that Brazil is where we want to be. Where there is significant amount of people using crypto and awareness of same

And the funds to acquire dash and or earn/use it

Voting NO

Thanks
