Proposal description

Thank you for considering ‘Dash Events’ Start up proposal!  I would like to emphasize that this is not simply an investment in the sponsorship of a single event, this is a low risk, minimum viable product investment in what we hope to grow into a large scale event business, with the core mission of promoting DASH and scaling as DASH user adoption and value scales in the near future.

Synopsis

This budget proposal intends to fund a proof of concept “Powered by DASH” Electronic Dance Music (EDM) concert in the epicenter of EDM music in the USA - Los Angeles. All profits and any future blockchain funding will be reinvested back into business entity 'Dash Events' to scale to larger venues and DJ talent with larger followings, thereby accelerating DASH brand recognition and product adoption. Dash Events strives to develop a lean and highly scalable business model. We have very clear and aggressive milestones set for ourselves that we are determined to meet, while simultaneously keeping our request for funding as low as possible to create a minimum viable product for proof of concept. We intend to cultivate and seed the DASH Brand by systematically refining the event process and experience of 'Powered by DASH' events using minimum viable product lean startup strategies and leveraging our experience in the event industry. The primary thesis of our business will be to stay agile enough to scale our events as DASH scales in value and user adoption. Upon completion of proof of concept event, we will produce a full report to the DASH community detailing the results of event, create a post-event promotional video, and reinvest all profits from sales into funding the next “Powered by Dash” event. We will be using this event as proof of concept for a follow up budget proposal project, with the next milestone being the establishment of a monthly “Powered by DASH” concert event in the Los Angeles area.

We will also be maintaining and cultivating our own online presence through domain www.dashevents.us and social as we have already secured ‘Dash Events’ Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook handles for development.

As DASH is an international payments company, our long term mission accomplished would mean scaling out to international festival events in which all commerce within festival venue is conducted using DASH.

Overview

The primary purpose of this project is to seed our proposed event and promotion company, ‘Dash Events’ with the mission of accelerating DASH brand recognition and DASH product adoption. Initial budget funding for ‘Dash Events’ will plant the seed of the DASH brand in underground venues right in the epicenter and heart of the Electronic Dance Music scene in the United States, the city of Los Angeles, California. We will be reinvesting all profits from the proof of concept event back into Dash Events. As the project manager, I am lucky enough to already have established multiple sources of income, and I am financially capable of putting in the required front end work without initially taking any profits in order to scale “Powered by DASH” events quickly and begin cultivating an atmosphere, outreach, and community around the DASH brand. The funds from this budget proposal will be invested directly into our already established production company partners with six years experience in the industry. We intend to host a proof of concept, minimum viable product event to collect data, refine the process and experience, and raise funds to scale ‘DASH Events’ further. Upon completion of proof of concept event, we will produce a full report to the DASH community on the results of the event, create a post-event promotional video, and reinvest all profits into funding the next “Powered by Dash” event. For this start up event, we will work with Take Back the Night Productions, Inc. an event planning and Production company with a proven track record specializing in underground EDM events. Their network of DJs, lighting technicians, audio engineers, promotors, security, and event staff is extensive and a leader in the market. Their network pool can pull from people who have produced events such as Electric Daisy Carnival (300k people), Lightning in a Bottle (30k people), and Boogaloo (2,500 people). Take Back the Night Productions also has a wide PR reach and has been featured on ABC News, LA Weekly, The DO Lab, LostInSound, and EDM.COM. More information about TBTN can be found at their website at www.tbtnproductions.com

Key Deliverables

Dash Events will host an Electronic Dance Music Event “Powered by Dash” in Los Angeles, in partnership with Take Back the Night Productions.  We will produce and share a promotional DASH video of the event and report data upon completion.  All profits from ticket sales and any additional blockchain funding will be reinvested back into ‘Dash Events’ to incrementally scale toward larger venues and artists, with the mission of accelerating DASH brand awareness, reputation, and product adoption.

Agreement Structure

This initial project objective set forward in our budget proposal intends to host a 300-600 person “Powered by Dash” minimum viable product, proof of concept event within three (3) months of first month budget approval. We will collect data and feedback from the event to refine the process and experience, produce a promotional video from the event, and reinvest all ticket sale profits back into the venture to scale Dash Events. Our ‘Powered by Dash’ event business model will promote brand awareness and recognition to a highly influential audience. Our primary target audience is the ideal demographic for a next wave blockchain payment company like DASH - 18-30 year old socialites in one of the most highly publicized and influential cities in the world, Los Angeles, California.

Why Electronic Dance Music?

The advent of truly competitive and democratic music platforms such as Soundcloud have created a massive supply of DJ’s in the Los Angeles area, and around the world, and have allowed EDM music in particular to thrive. This massive supply, as well as exponentially trending market demand for EDM music, creates a highly scalable music genre for ‘Dash Events’ purposes. We intend to cultivate DASH's brand image and refine the event process and experience, through trial and error feedback loops of hosting small venue “Powered by DASH” events in the Los Angeles area. Once the process is refined, we intend to scale as aggressively as we are able, with the long term goal of hosting multi-day music festivals internationally, because DASH is, of course, an international DAO. These much larger scale events down the road will conduct all commerce within the venue and event using DASH. We will initially provide the option to purchase event tickets with fiat or DASH, however, once we have an established community around our events, we plan to switch entirely to only accepting DASH for tickets as well as all sales within the venue.

What can Dash Events offer the DASH Community?

Our bold mission is to incrementally scale ‘Dash Events’ toward larger venues and artists, with the mission of accelerating DASH brand awareness, reputation, and product adoption. Our outreach and DASH promotion does not begin and end with the night of the event. Vital to the success of an event business, we will be marketing and promoting “Powered by DASH” events before, during, and post event. We have extensive PR relations with category websites for internet marketing, as well as a street team in place we will use for promotion. We will additionally leverage social platforms, social media influencers, reach out to Dash focused niche sites, as well as general cryptocurrency enthusiast websites to promote our events and the DASH brand. We will also be maintaining and cultivating our own online presence through domain www.dashevents.us and social as we have already secured ‘Dash Events’ Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook handles for development.

Schedule

Project work has already started as we have already funded to secure a domain (dashevents.us), began website development (beta should be hosted and online by end of next week), conducted production company due diligence, and secured partnership with TBTN Productions, as well as conducted cost and risk analysis studies.Upon budget proposal approval, Dash Events will immediately begin working with Take Back the Night Productions, Inc. to secure a venue, hire talent, begin internet marketing and street team marketing, secure a videographer, and host a “Powered by Dash” minimum viable product, proof of concept event within three (3) months. We intend to attract between 300-600 attendees for the initial event. We will use all funding from budget proposal to accomplish this event, and Take Back The Night Productions Inc. will be paid a production fee 15% of the total cost of event. We intend to have this first project completed, promotional video of event developed, and a full report / analysis of the event within three (3) months of initial budget proposal approval. Our second milestone, and follow up budget proposal upon successful completion of this project will be to present data and proof of concept event to DASH community as evidence to fund the hosting of a monthly “Powered by DASH” event in Los Angeles. These events would be maintained and grow through the simultaneous reinvestment of event ticket sale profits and any future necessary blockchain budget funding secured. These monthly events will not only raise capital for ‘Dash Events’, but will also provide us with valuable feedback necessary to refine the process and experience for scaling going forward. With a monthly event, we will also be able to carefully cultivate a desirable atmosphere and brand image for DASH among the Los Angeles EDM scene and LA nightlife scene in general.

Budget with Itemized Cost

Dash Proposal: 5 Dash / $500.00
Venue: Capacity of hosting 300-600 attendees = 23 Dash / $2,300.00
Talent: Supporting DJ = 8 DASH / $800.00 Headliner = 22 DASH / $2,200.00
Promotion/Marketing: Approximately .05 Dash / $5.00 per attendee for internet marketing and Approximately .02 Dash / $2.00 per attendee for street team promotion/printed materials
Photo/Video Recording and Production: 15 Dash / $1,500.00 for videographer with 5 day turnaround on promotional video.
DASH promotional material:Promotional DASH Display set up in venue = 6 Dash / $600.00
Total = 104 DASH / $10,400.00
Take Back the Night Production Fee: 15% of total cost = 16 DASH / $1,560.00

Total Cost of Project = 120 DASH

Payment Schedule

Budget Proposal = 60 DASH paid monthly for a period of 2 months totaling 120 DASH.

Standards of Evidence

One week post-event we will have a report and analysis ready to share with the DASH community as well as a promotional video of the event for review and feedback.

Who We Are

Our startup team consists of three core members: Myself, Thomas Warming, the project leader and founder of ‘DASH Events’. I am a serial internet entrepreneur with multiple successful and largely automated eCommerce businesses, as well as an early investor in DASH, Bitcoin and Ethereum. For me, Dash was always the most exciting alt-coin to deliver the dream of a blockchain payments company that will change the world because of its governance system, master node network, and ability to send instant transactions with the option of anonymity. Having built and worked with online-based businesses in the past, I am fully aware of how important branding is to the success of a business, or in DASH's case, a Decentralized Autonomous Organization. While DASH maintains first mover advantage in many technological respects, the ease in which one can duplicate a cryptocurrency technology means that brand recognition and ability to generate network effects is of paramount importance. I am determined to do everything in my power to spread DASH awareness, brand recognition, and product adoption through the scaling of ‘Dash Events’. I will be the one communicating directly with the DASH community, responding to feedback, answering questions, and doing my best to maintain complete transparency of the project throughout. The other two primary team members are Baker Wiles, CEO of Take Back the Night Productions, Inc. with a background in sales, marketing and business development, and Ben Webber, cofounder of TBTN Productions with a background in business development, marketing, and media, whose expertise is exemplified through his MBA from UCLA. These two guys have been producing high quality, professional events since 2011 and specialize in both small and large scale events. Their ability to scale with us makes TBTN the ideal initial partner for 'DASH Events'.

Future Projects/Proposals

Upon completion of our proof of concept project, which should take three months, we will use data collected from our proof of concept event to submit a follow up budget proposal from the blockchain, as well as reinvest all profits from ticket sales to make milestone number two a reality - hosting a monthly “Powered by DASH” EDM event in the Los Angeles area. As the value of DASH is expected to increase over time, and we are also reinvesting our profits, ideally future budget proposals will be the same amount requested as this one, or less!As DASH is an international payments company, our long term mission accomplished would mean scaling out to international festival events in which all commerce within festival venue is conducted using DASH. We have no disillusions to the complexity and difficulty of this macro vision, however we are confident in our ability to take the venture step by step ferociously and execute on key deliverables.

Closing Statement

I would like to again emphasize that this is not simply an investment in the sponsorship of a single event, this is a low risk, minimum viable product investment in what we hope to grow into a large scale event business, with the core mission of promoting DASH and scaling as DASH user adoption and value scales in the near future. I'm really looking forward to hearing and answering any and all feedback from the DASH community to the best of my ability. 'Dash Events' will be a DASH community business, and we want to realize this vision by listening to and understanding the community and duly making any adjustments to the business based on DASH community consensus. With this valuable startup seed funding support from DASH, we plan to shatter fantasies and work to create a decentralized dream, while elevating the standard for the DASH brand.

I don't get this:
Promotion/Marketing: $5.00 per attendee for internet marketing and Approximately

Question 1)
Don't attendee's pay for tickets ?, or do you need to pay them to come ?

Question 2)
Also what attendee's actually going to buy with dash ? tickets, food and drinks ?

Possible strategy: As the aim is to let people start using dash (still to early for me do we need evolution first). Paying with dash should give discounts.

Not trying to be harsh but I fail to see how this brings brand awareness to Dash... Is it just an event company with a name confusingly similar to Dash the crypto. I would really like to vote for this, but I'm just trying to understand how you will spread Dash awareness. Will goods be sold with Dash at the event?... Or tickets themselves? Will there be an instructional video played at the event explaining Dash? Also, if you have experience hosting events, can you provide a link of an event you've hosted in the past? Thanks!

Thank you for your questions dashly!

As stated in proposal, from the start, Dash will be an optional payment method to purchase event tickets, however after building and cultivating a customer base and demand for the events, we plan to shift entirely to only accepting Dash for event tickets. Furthermore, when we are ready to scale up to hosting a festival sized event, we would set up the venue to only accepting Dash for all commerce within venue.

The first production company we will be working with is Take Back the Night Productions, with the help of a few sponsors and non-profits they host a charity fundraiser each year on January 1 titled “Beats, Bloodies, and Brunch.”  They serve a full catered brunch, fly in international DJ talent, and serve bottomless bloody marys and mimosas.  They then donate 100% of the profits to a local non-profit called P.S. Arts, who provide the Southern California youth with art and music education. As a result of Beats, Bloodies, and Brunch, they have been featured on ABC News, LA Weekly, The Do Lab newsletter, 88.7FM in Bakersfield, LostInSound, EDM.com, and other publications.  The Do Lab and LA Weekly both called it one of the best New Year’s Eve or Day parties from the Bay to LA. People pay attention to their parties.

So, If getting this correctly, the main selling point is that. these DASH events become exclusively for people that are able to pay with dash ?

Question 1) Dash and exclusivity is that good mix ?
Dash is cash and is for everyone

Quuestion 2) Are there any themes with these events like say: "FUCK the banks we are freedom we are our bank !'" (or something ?

Question 3) Are there company's that have done the same ? like Visa, mastercard, Neteller, skrill ?

Please let me now if I am missing some selling points.

Q 1) This is a good point. I think Dash ATMs should be put near the entrance of the venue for those without crypto. At an amusement park you might buy tickets for food or drink. At Dash Events you buy Dash to spend at the vendors.

I can at least answer number 3... Owning a ticketing company, I know for a fact that these companies do in fact do this, although a little differently. We've sold tickets for several events, where pre-sales were only available to those people holding a specific credit card... Citi presale for instance.

"As DASH is an international payments company..."

Dash is not a company. It doesn't seem like you researched Dash in a serious manner but only see it as a source for free and quick money. The key deliverable I can't take serious at this price either. Plus I see no viable target audience being addressed here at all. It seems like lately everyone thinks they can apply for funds just because. Completely irrespective of whether it has any crosspoints with our product or not...

NO from me.

Thank you for your feedback, I actually did state in the proposal that Dash is a DAO, decentralized autonomous organization. I also stated in the description the target audience, "Our primary target audience is the ideal demographic for a next wave blockchain payment company like DASH - 18-30 year old socialites in one of the most highly publicized and influential cities in the world, Los Angeles, California. "

I hope you understand that one of the most effective and under priced modern day marketing/growth hacking tactics in this country is to leverage social media influencers like we plan to do?

Hey Simon!

Yep, your reddit post about wanting to host a DASH Electronic music festival was spot on perfect timing as we were just finishing up drafting the proposal last week. This is the roadmap and business plan to achieving that end goal. I have many contacts in the event production industry and have studied several case studies of similar ventures. If the Master Nodes are willing to get this off the ground, we could be realizing that dream of hosting large venue music festivals within only three to four years. A pretty massive prospect for such a small percentage of the Dash monthly budget.

I would also like to emphasize and/or remind masternodes that accounting for the high growth potential of dash, it may prove to be a mistake to invest in any non-tech proposal at this time that doesn't also have growth and scaling potential. Dash Events justifies allocating even a small amount of the monthly budget because it has growth potential. We also plan to grow our business in a decentralized way by sharing data from the event to the Dash community, as stated in proposal. This means that anyone else in the Dash community, i.e. You simontheravager can replicate our business model in a radius distance from our location, allowing "Powered by Dash" Events to seed in any location rapidly!

The point of reinvesting DASH back to this sub-DAO is a very good idea. If the first events work out well this could lead very soon to the first real self-funding sub-DAO :-) well done

I understand your concern DashAgora, however this is not simply a single event but seed funding for what intends to be a profitable and scalable business model with the mission of spreading Dash awareness to a highly influential audience. We feel that this is one of the more efficient ways Dash can be allocating its budget, that is, to fund an actual business model that has a roadmap to profitability and scaling on its own, rather than simply funding a single event.

I think that in the future things like this will be a good idea, but it is far too early for this right now.

We need to wait for evolution to drop before jumping in to large advertising ventures.

Hi ctafti, thank you for your feedback!

I 100% agree that it is far too early for large scale advertising ventures, this is why we are only requesting funding for a minimum viable product to plant the seed within the Los Angeles underground EDM scene, to collect data for scaling out to larger advertising ventures in the future. We feel that it is important to begin this venture now, as early as possible, to allow time and feedback to cultivate the event experience in a way that optimizes Dash reputation.

Upon completion of this event, I will be sharing with the Dash community a full report and post event promotional video for review and discussion within the Dash forum concerning how best to move "Powered by Dash" events forward.

Thank you for your consideration and please let me know if you have any further questions, comments, or concerns!

Thank you for a very detailed and thorough budget proposal.

As the amount is relatively small (120 Dash spread out over 2 months), i'm willing to take a leap of fate and give you my yes votes and await your full report / analysis of the event within three (3) months of initial budget proposal approval".

Before i vote yes though i would like to know if there is some way that we can verify you or your team ? Do you (Thomas Warming) have some official site or LinkedIn, that can be linked to this budget proposal or to Dash in general for verification ?
