Proposal description

Recent developments made me to make this proposal:

  1. Since our last proposal Dash depreciated almost twice
  2. We're started working on Electrum PrivateSend implementation, but it would take some time.
  3. We can go back to working full time on Dash Electrum, given enough funding.
Right now we're getting 32 Dash per month (after taking out proposal fee), which gives us ~$2560.  To work full time, we need another $7440/month which is 93Dash.

We are asking for additiona funding of
  • 93Dash monthly over 3 months = 279Dash
  • proposal submission fee of 5 Dash
total 284Dash over 3 months (rounded to 95Dash per month)

Link to the currently active proposal is https://www.dashcentral.org/p/DashElectrum2019 and it's description contains more information regarding activities of our team.

See https://www.dash.org/forum/threads/dash-electrum-extended-funding.48135/ for the pre-proposal thread.

Please support Electrum people. It is a must have wallet for PCs.

we need Electrum for multi-sig for institutional use!

We're considering adding support for most common multisig usecases to the roadmap. Right after PrivateSend support.

Please indicate reason(s) why Electrum is needed in addition to Dash Android, Dash iOS, DashCore wallet, etc

Because Electrum is almost "standard" SPV wallet that allows to keep the disk footprint very light. Also it's widely used as a backend for a payment processing solutions.

can the Android and iOS be used for backend payment processing solutions?

Do you mean use Android and iOS as POS? Yes, but I was speaking about server-side part of the processing.

Mobile POS can definitely utilize Dash Electrum on the backend, or even frontend, but this is not a part of this proposal.

We need a light wallet for desktop, not everybody is going to want to sync a full node on their desktop to recover funds.

why not just recommend ppl use Android wallet, or iOS wallet, or Edge wallet? ie. instead of a desktop wallet

Eletcrum wallet allowed me to recover some Dash my fiance had stuck on her Android wallet using the seed words, quickly.
