This is a necessary sign of growth that we are seeing and as MNOs we cannot be slack in responding. The ecosystem is ready to expand fellow MNOs, and we have to be ready to answer that call with our research and our Yes! votes where appropriate.

And this is such a deserving proposal imo. First, it is from a trusted member of the community that has provided years of good, faithful content. Among other achievements, 26 Masternodes in Brazil came about due to Rodrigo and his teams efforts in Brazil. So we know the proposal comes from (a) community member(s) with a track record and history of getting things done.

I've mentioned and extolled the virtues of those efforts in the past and will not recount those words here. Suffice it to say that their track record is impressive and there is large chance this effort will succeed. This is an effort to expand Dash's influence and reach within a community of developers in a completely foreign ecosystem than the network is traditionally used to.

But Brazil has been a large community for Dash for YEARS now, so it makes sense that such a time would come. And with Platform inching closer by the day, the hour when our investment into that region bears full fruit draws closer at hand. So supporting this fledling foray into the Brazilian development community would be very wise imo.

There should be no conflict at all with Mr. Freer's efforts, as they are much further along, in a completely different language and serve a completely different marketplace.

And when the time comes that these efforts have grown to the level where the developers are ready to contribute to platform and the DAPPs that live there, they can be marshalled seamlessly into whatever form the current incubator has taken at that time. So I see no cause for concern about overlap in that regard.

Summarily, this proposal is a necessary step in our growth as a global network. We should expect similar proposals in other regions as well, as more and more technically literate people wish to be able to contribute to the network without necessarily working on the core protocol.

We shouldn't shun this effort, it may be scary to leap out a bit on faith but there's not much to trust, so we should just lean into that fear. Rodrigo and team have done solid work for years and they should be given the chance to do it again. Vote Yes! and help expand the Dash development ecosystem in a completely new marketplace.

We have seen this before. A "trusted" member of the community with no experience in software development comes to the DAO and wants to get in on the software development aspect of Dash, because the MNOs love to fund software development. It never works out.

It happened with DashForce and their "bridge to nowhere" project called DiscoverDash. It happened with George Donnelly and DashRetail, a service that no one needs, and which will never be released IMHO.

Hi Everyone, Just to clarify, the DASH DEV ACADEMY is in any way a competition to DASH Incubator. All we are focus on is hiring Devs.s to create tutorials in Portuguese for other Devs. This is an educational program to have the most amount of tutorials in PT for anybody to start building on Dash Platform. This is most likely a 1-time proposal and we are willing and more than happy to follow any lead from Dash Incubator. At any point, we intend to create a bounty program, the other way around as it is already in the dashdev. academy, we will guide all devs from Brazil that speaks English to the Dash Incubator for these types of task, and if the price of dash increases we might have funds to do the same but in Spanish. Language is still a barrier that we are trying to minimize.

IMHO it is a bit disingenuous to say that this is "most likely a 1-time proposal." The documentation you are translating is constantly being updated, so your work will become out of date if you are not continuously funded.

From what I understand, Andy Freer at the Dash Incubator currently does not have enough funds to pay bounties for all the tasks they've identified. For that reason, I am reluctant to fund a duplicate effort like this at this time.

Not commenting on this particular proposal, but in terms of Dash Incubator we are good for funds right now, the issue became scaling people but we've onboarded a lot of devs / Admins in the past 3 weeks.

Part of the Incubator strategy is to support the creation of alternatives as competition is a good thing - we feel that such efforts should be fully transparent and decentralized as possible (again i've not read the above proposal / have any comments on how it satisfies that)

Thank you for the update Andy. I was hoping you might comment. Competition is wonderful if you can afford it. I am concerned about making a commitment to fund another Incubator right now. Not that long ago Dash was under $100.

Without knowing anything about the PO or due diligence in that regard, or thinking about the ask, if they achieve the goals they state above, I like the sound of it.

IDK. Translating all the dev docs into Portuguese does not seem like a good use of funds right now. We need Brazilian USERs and the focus should be on that.

Hi agnewpickens, if you click on the link provided in the proposal in the part where it says: we are working with Dash Incubator, you will see that it is their material we are following and All the links provided on the list of priorities are from there. We will also create all tutorials in Portuguese and as the price of the dash is rising, hopefully, we will have funds to create in Spanish as well. We have a list of Dev's already lined up for these. I hope this answers your concerns

Is there any collaboration between you all and the Dash Incubator planned? This seems like an area where you can be more than the sum of your parts with some cross project collaboration.

Hi nam3, Yes we've contacted Andy and Rion and we will be following their lead regarding priorities as we stated in the proposal also the focus of our platform is first to create correct material to bring the right persons to develop solutions for the Dash platform with the platform criteria and in the future make the two ecosystems communicate and cooperate. We will also focus on customized educational tutorials for this market. Thanks for the support.
