Proposal description

This proposal serves to outline a Dash Network and Vault Logic partnership to accomplish the aligned goals of making DASH accessible to everyone in a fast and secure way, with an optimized user experience.

Co Founder, Doug Scribner, at Coin Agenda highlighting the innovation behind the Vault Logic ATM and how it can make DASH available to the unbanked, in addition to a suite of cash and crypto services.

Vault logic is first to market with an all-in-one kiosk containing a traditional ATM and multi cryptocurrency BTM, while also presenting Cash as a Service (CaaS) and soon a user incentivized cash balancing network via an app.

Vault Logic ATMs are ideal for a variety of regular locations and businesses from restaurants and transportation hubs to Ma & Pa convenience stores.  With easy integration of third party cash apps and legacy ATM services, additional foot traffic will add to the bottom line of any location and lead to more awareness and use of digital assets.

Like Dash, Vault Logic is bold and prepared for disruption, which makes our partnership ideal for cash heavy verticals like dispensaries. In fact, DASH is already listed on all Vault Logic ATMs, promoted on our ad and media screen space, and incorporated on our printed one pagers. We will also integrate InstantSend as part of the proposal.

 Partnership

We propose the Dash Network partners with Vault Logic to distribute 10 Vault Logic ATMs via an all inclusive, 1 year lease, which includes Vault Logic providing installation, maintenance, software updates, liquidity and cash logistics. At the end of the year, the lease can either be refunded or the lease can be renewed for each subsequent lease term at no additional cost to the Dash Network.

Vault Logic typically offers 67% of the transaction revenue from all revenue streams (crypto buy and sell, ATM transactions, ad space revenue, Cash as a Service, and other 3rd party apps like bill pay, gift cards, and mobile minutes) to the distributor or the host location, who is the signs the lease for the the ATM. The 33.3% is allocated to the operations of Vault Logic for the the servicing, maintenance, cash logistics, and additional business services.

In order to benefit the Dash Network with the 66.7% revenue from the ATMs leased by the network, we propose the 66.7% revenue will be applied towards maintaining a 1% DASH transaction fee on the ATMs leased by the Dash Network. Other cryptocurrencies on these ATMs will be set to a transaction fee of 8% or higher, which will also incentivize individuals to purchase DASH.

Thus, if 66.7% of the transaction revenue from the fees of all transaction types listed above on a Dash Network leased ATM is $1200 per month, Vault Logic will allocate these funds towards subsidizing a 1% DASH transaction fee and additional DASH liquidity.

If the amount revenue exceeds what is needed for subsidizing the low fees on DASH and DASH liquidity, we propose the revenue will be contributed toward DASH Boost Proposal.

For transparency, Vault Logic will provide a monthly update from the dashboard of the Dash Network leased ATMs for transparency on transaction metrics, allocation of the 66.7% revenue, and transaction fees for the services on each Dash Network ATM to evaluate the location and performance of the ATMs.

The Dash Network ATMs will be wrapped in DASH branding and the add screen will include media and advertising for DASH, Dash sponsored initiatives, and businesses accepting DASH. The ATMs may be placed by Danny Sessoms at ideal locations approved by the Dash Network.

When the opportunity presents itself in the future, Vault Logic seeks to be one of the first investment vehicles for Dash Ventures. The 67% transaction revenue shared with Dash Ventures can be distributed back to the Masternodes or reinvested to expand the number of ATMs in the Dash Network both domestically and globally to support other DASH sponsored initiatives.

We held a DASH Meetup at World Crypto Con and we are planning a series of meetups both in Los Angeles and at additional conferences. We believe DASH offers an optimal payment solution and can drive adoption of cryptocurrency, which is key to the mission of Vault Logic. The underbanked specifically can be introduced to DASH through Vault Logic’s familiar smart-phone like user experience.

The Vault Logic ATM lease offer is a low risk investment. The infrastructure is already created and the the lease is fully refundable at the end of the term. The lease is all inclusive, so Vault Logic manages the maintenance and cash logistics for the network of ATMs, while sharing the transaction revenue with distributors.

The Problem

A current challenge facing the market is providing a physical location for people to gain exposure to DASH with the capacity to not only buy, but also sell DASH instantly. Of the 3,938 crypto enabled ATMs in the market, only 647 (17.1%) offer DASH. Furthermore, only 38.4% of those ATMs are bidirectional, which positions the bi-directional Vault Logic ATMs to be top competitors in the marketplace.

Most ATMs offer one stream of revenue and do not offer the capacity to integrate 3rd party apps and advertising. There is also a need for the infrastructure to manage the ATM network and liquidity.

Typically, ATMs do not place priority for the tier of KYC and AML standards needed to be present in many market verticals or offer vaulting capacity. In order to accommodate international expansion, there is a need for more ATMs to have the capacity to accept multiple denominations.

The Solution

Vault Logic ATMs lower the barrier to entry to purchase DASH by providing a familiar, physical location because it is an ATM, that allows users to buy and sell DASH with cash directly and have a very fast transaction time. It is Vault Logic’s top priority to deliver a secure and seamless system, with an educational user experience still in mind.

By offering a solution for the cash management problem ailing ATM networks with our user incentivized cash balancing, Vault Logic will soon have the capacity to incentivize users to come to the ATM to buy and sell DASH and educate them through the ad screen space about businesses accepting DASH.

Vault Logic offers the capacity to change fees and provides the network the choice on what the fees should be based on the surrounding area. With the intent to drive adoption of DASH, the fee on DASH can be kept low.

We will work with the distributor to make sure the ATMs are strategically placed and the Dash Network can also see the reports and metrics for the ATMs to evaluate the success of the location and determine if there is a better location to host the ATM.

The capacity to offer vaulting and top tier KYC and AML allows Vault Logic to be placed in locations across many different market verticals. Vault Logic can service 285 denominations, with the capacity to increase this number, positioning Vault Logic ATMs to be an international solution for the underbanked populations.

Integration

Vault Logic ATMs can be placed in retail, restaurants, dispensaries, crypto centric locations, and at events, just to name a few. All of these locations will benefit the Dash ecosystem and offer the locations the cash management services they are currently seeking.

  1. Vault Logic can offer a cash management solution for cryptocurrency focused and cash heavy locations, such as dispensaries through cash as a service and user incentivized cash balancing.
  2. Vault Logic ATMs will be added to the coin radar map in order to put them on the map and promote the locations they are placed and Dash will be listed as a cryptocurrency offered at the ATM location.
  3. The Ads on the Vault Logic ATM advertising space containing DASH and business accepting DASH can be distributed throughout the ATM network ad and media screen space.
  4. Vault Logic offers transparency with reports regarding the metrics of the ATMs so that the percentages and fees can be adjusted or the location reassessed for a location with more foot traffic or better advertising.
  5. Vault Logic prioritizes user experience and offers a suite of services that is second to none, so ATM users have a one stop location for cash needs while having ease of access to DASH.
  6. Vault Logic will soon be able to offer POS (point-of-sales) solutions to provide ticketing and direct cash to DASH self checkout, which offers ease of integration into businesses and a solution for cash businesses.
 Proposals

The Dash Network partnership we are proposing is defined as follows, with future proposals intended for expanding the Dash Network ATMs, offering more advertising and liquidity once the performance and value proposition of the ATMs leased  have been verified by the Dash Network.

First Proposal

1) 1 Year, All-Inclusive Lease of 10 ATMs and Transaction Revenue Allocation

Dash Network ATM Lease. This can be allocated into two payments.

# of ATMs - 10

Lease*/ ATM - $15,000

Total Cash Amount* - $150,000

DASH - 904.43
Spot Price @ $165.85

*Lease is refundable at the end of the year lease term, if contract is not renewed.  Lease includes wrapping the ATMs with DASH branding and:

  • Maintenance
  • Servicing
  • Liquidity and cash logistics
  • Software updates
66.7% of the transaction revenues from the list below will go toward maintaining a 1% DASH transaction fee for the ATMs leased by the Dash Network.

  • Crypto buy and sell
  • ATM transactions
  • Ad and media space revenue
  • Cash as a Service
  • Other 3rd party apps like bill pay, gift cards, and mobile minutes
If the Dash Network chooses, the transaction revenue can be applied toward expanding Dash Network's ATMs, providing and/or eventually Dash Ventures. The report submitted to the Dash Network each month will provide complete transparency for the amount and allocation of the transaction revenue, in addition to location performance metrics.

2) DASH Liquidity for ATM Network

 January 2019 - December 2019

Vault Logic has an internal exchange, so we provide all liquidity to the network of ATMs, thus receiving DASH for liquidity will support our combined efforts to offer DASH in the network.

DASH Liquidity for the ATM Network

$/Quarter - $12,500

DASH - 75.37
Spot Price @ $165.85

3) Ad and Media Screen Featuring DASH in the Vault Logic ATM Network

January 2019 - December 2019

The purpose of the ad and media screen space is to show DASH media throughout the ATM network, as well as, promote Dash Network funded businesses and initiatives to draw people to the ATM locations.

DASH Ad and Media Screen Promotion

Q1 2019

# of ATMs - 60

Q1 $/ATM - $300

$/Q1 - $18,000

DASH - 108.53
Spot Price @ $165.85

4) Proposal Fee 5 DASH

Total Proposal = $ 180,500 + 5 DASH
Total DASH = 1088.33 + 5 DASH

Subsequent proposals - Will include an outline for adding more ATMs to the network, with a proposed discount on the lease, DASH liquidity, and advertising for the remaining quarters in 2019, as well as a plan for expanding the network.

Timeline

Vault Logic is adding 70 more ATMs to the network next month. The first proposal for the Dash Network and Vault Logic partnership focuses on the value of the suggested all inclusive, 1 year lease of 10 DASH branded ATMs to the Dash Network.

Following the delivery and placement of these 10 ATMs, Vault Logic will provide monthly reports to substantiate the performance of the network and the locations chosen. We are also asking for advertising and liquidity funds, which we will distribute in the ATM network.

Vault Logic will cover the cash logistics, maintenance, installation and servicing of the Dash Network ATMs.  Vault Logic has the capacity to integrate InstantSend, Rewards.com and additional platforms to make DASH available for retail and dispensary locations, which will assist with the market adoption of DASH and the cash solutions needed by dispensaries.

These ATMs may be distributed by Danny Sessoms at locations strategic for the Dash Network, such as dispensaries and other Dash Network supported businesses.

Pricing structure is all wrong. Keep it simple; a fixed fee to provide the lowest fees. What's all this jiggery-pokery with percentages to make the money you're going to make anyway!

Hello GrandMasterDash, I appreciate your suggestion. our traditional model is to share 67% of the transaction fee revenue. Our goal is to have a model in place so we can share that with the network through Dash Ventures, Dash Boost or another means, so that is why I left it in the proposal rather than just stating the lowest fee. Thank you.

> In order to benefit the Dash Network with the 66.7% revenue from the ATMs leased by the network, we propose the 66.7% revenue will be applied towards maintaining a 1% DASH transaction fee on the ATMs leased by the Dash Network.

This doesn't make any sense to me. Who receives that 1% fee for Dash? That is income. Not a cost. Why would you need to use one source of income to pay for another source of income? They are both income. Where is the cost?
Reply

Hello masternube, Yes it is not a cost, rather the 66.7% income from transaction fees that we typically share with a distributor or location will be used to subsidize lower fees on DASH. We will use that income to make DASH available at a lower price or now price in the case of giveaways, without losing income for the business model. Thus, that income can be used towards making sure we have the DASH liquidity we need to, since we know DASH purchases will be in high demand at our ATMs. Our goal is to have a model in place so we can share the 66.7% with the Dash network through Dash Ventures, Dash Boost or another means, so that is why I left it in the proposal.

Hello, telegon_heights. Since we have a traditional ATM, we can accept cards, and the cash dispensed from the ATM side can be used for cryptocurrency purchase. The cash dispensed from the sale of cryptocurrency can be inserted into the ATM for use of cash services, as well.

Why would you take cash out and immediately put it back in, rather than making that a single transaction?

The video included in this proposal much more succinctly explains the value of this project than was immediately apparent in your pre-proposal, and I think it has a lot of potential, especially if our partnership proved to be fruitful and you were able to integrate with some of our other partners, like others have mentioned above/below. There are a lot of opportunities there to maximize the value of all of our partnerships in a mutually beneficial way.

With Dash Ventures looming on the horizon, we're going to need to start looking at ways of generating actual, measurable revenue to feed back in to DV to be able to fund and invest in other projects, and having this kind of infrastructure in place is incredibly important.

Of course I echo the concerns about the budget constraints and hope that you'll resubmit a proposal broken up in smaller monthly payments, but that's already been addressed.

One other question I have for you is regarding licensing, regulation, and different regions. These would be incredibly useful in some of our more active places around the world. Where are you legally allowed to operate and how feasible would it be for your ATMs to be placed in various areas of the world?
Reply

Hello Arthyron, Thank you for your review and positive affirmation regarding the mutually beneficial partnership we may form. I am glad the video provides conveys our vision and the value we will bring to the Dash Network. We are also looking forward to the opportunity of being a source of revenue for Dash Ventures.

I am planning to resubmit to divide the payments and we look forward to integrating with the currently funded projects and provide advertising on the media and ad space on the ATM.

In regards to placement around the world, we will build the infrastructure not already in place, in order to appeal to other locations and markets around the world. Currently, we have a Vault Logic ATMs in California (San Francisco, West Hollywood, San Pedro, San Diego), Salt Lake City, Las Vegas, Denver, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Atlanta. We acquire the licensing and also make sure third party platforms have the required compliance measures in place. The ATM has the capacity to seamlessly be adapted to accept additional currencies beyond USD. We also recognize placement in other countries may require modifying the size of the ATM for certain jurisdictions.

Thank you for your time and questions! I appreciate your thoughtful response to our partnership proposal.

can this proposal be broken up over 2to3months based on the current 5Dash proposal? or does another 5Dash proposal need to be submitted to tweak the # of months for the payment?

Hi telegon_heights, I need to resubmit in order to divide the payments. I thought I could do so after submission, but I was in error, I will do so, and I appreciate the questions.

Which specific individuals decide on the locations for the ATMs?
Reply
1 point,5 years ago
Hello telegon_hights, the locations will be presented in the next proposal, and I am also open to suggestions even beyond the ATMs that we are receiving funding for from Dash. Danny Sessoms and a couple others in the community are seeking locations, which will include dispensaries. Other locations we are seeking will provide access to Dash for the local Venezuelan and other communities that Dash is already working to support financial inclusion opportunities.

Since we are at the start of the voting cycle and most masternode owners are strugglingwith the large amount (1093 Dash) that is requested for funding, you could ask masternodes to have this proposal downvoted (by changing title, adding comment and changing proposal description) and create a new budget proposal that you spread over 3 or 4 months. It is not the first time this has been done and it wont be the last time. It will not guarantee a positive outcome but it may give this budget proposal a fighting chance.

I read this pre-proposal and commented that I thought ATMS were going to be needed on the next bull run. I hope you keep communicating with the Dash Community and that something can work out. The truth is I would buy some Dash right now if there was an ATM close by me.

Good luck Cassie and it wouldn't surprise me if this could work out once the community knows you better.

Thank you for the best wishes, bchamz!

I agree with your prediction about ATMs and I am eager to get feedback from the community, so we can partner our efforts to encourage adoption by immediate, physical access to buy and sell DASH with cash.

I appreciate your time and comments.

Cassie you mentioned splitting the payments unfortunately you need to do that when you submit the proposal it can't be done afterwards.
For everyone else this is a very versatile machine with a lot of potential. Hopefully enough feedback can be gained here for Vaultlogic to craft an acceptable proposal to the network.
Imagine if Rewards.com were willing to work with VaultLogic I think it could make for a very interesting on ramp for that partnership as well. When I first used this machine that was the very first thing that popped into my mind when I saw the Bill Pay and gift card features already built-in.
There are also some very interesting possibilities with the Tokes token that is already on the machine.
Tokes is a marijuana token built on the waves platform.
The creators of that token are looking to integrate other crypto currency's so that their platform is doing the work in the background for whatever Crypto is integrated into the machine and wants to participate.
They are already usable in one dispensary in Vegas.
Although that is a little bit of a cumbersome transaction I know it works because I've made the purchase myself.
Dash already has alt36 true enough but the all your eggs in one basket comes to mind here. I can't speak to the level of cash management Tokes provides in comparison to alt36 though.
From what I've been told by the Tokes platform is that they are fully compliant and that the state of Nevada said they didn't need an MTL but they are getting one anyway.
They did not indicate that they needed huge sums of money for integration so maybe a dialogue should also be opened up with them as to what they can offer.
That's my thoughts on it and hopefully the other Dash community members who were at WorldCryptoCon as well as those in LA who used the machine at the cryptospace will chime in with their thoughts on this.

Hello Danny, Thank you for your comments. Yes, my intention is to submit to split the payments now that I realize it is not possible to do so now, although. I wrote about Q1 funds, so my intention all along was to do the split, so I appreciate the confirmation.

I will include a video featuring the ATM.

We would welcome the opportunity to be a partner with Alt36 to provide additional ATMs, since we are a traditional ATM and multi cryptocurrency BTM, with a cash management solutions, we are positioned as an ideal option for the cannabis space.

We already have Tokes integrated and we work closely with them. We look forward to presenting the locations we can place the ATMs with Dash, as well. We certainly are working to partner with other ATM providers and offer advanced revenue potential for distributors and location, which will further maximize the network to promote DASH and the use of it via our network!

Adoption, transparency, and accessibility are primary focus points of Vault Logic. Dash is fast and secure, and we have the capacity to partner to bring it to everyone across the globe.

Hi Schnuppdog,

I appreciate your input. Vault Logic is unique because it pairs traditional ATM services and a Crypto ATM all in one, with incentivized cash management services.

What does this mean for Dash?

We are engaging users of the ATM to not only purchase DASH but use it for other platforms that we integrate. We make it possible for people to go directly from cash to DASH and DASH to cash instantly, and we will allow businesses to integrate DASH too.

This is a unique value proposition. ATMs are a familiar space for everyone to engage DASH, so they can be comfortable without all of the steps of an exchange that create friction for the experience.

Furthermore, we are offering fully refundable deposit and a way to return value to the network via 67% transaction revenue share.

I desire the communities suggestions on how to return this value to DASH, whether it be through an escrow of some kind, purchase of DASH, and/or subsidizing low fees for DASH.

I will include a video featuring our ATM.

Adoption, transparency, and accessibility are major values of Vault Logic, and to top it off we bring the fast, secure, premiere user experience DASH champions.

Thank you for your questions and concerns. Please let me know what else I can offer to this conversation!

Hello Kevmate,

The advertising and DASH liquidity are for Q1 2019, thus the proposal is designed to be made in two payments. The ATMs can also be delivered in two allotments of 5 Units.

Thank you for your input.

The funds you are demanding are not even available in the current budget,
assuming the Core Compensation proposal will get approved, which is very likely (near certainty).

Hello Johndude,

We have the capacity to split up the payments for the funds requested. Some of the funds are for Q1, so I did account for that.

Thank you for your input.

No you don't, once you create the Proposal you cannot adjust how much it is asking for, no one will vote for this as it stands, you need to create a new proposal, better you read up on how the treasury works first before submitting your next one.

Hello Realmrhack,

Please see the pre proposal and feedback provided regarding the pre proposal. I have had the proposal reviewed individually by others in the community as well.

https://www.dash.org/forum/threads/pre-proposal-dash-network-smart-atms-powered-by-vault-logic.41469/#post-201078

DASH is already offered on the Vault Logic ATMs and the lease can be split payments if needed. It is a fully refundable deposit, so we are definitely not looking for a money grab, rather offer full transparency through reporting.

Thank you for your input.

Thank you for pointing it out i must have missed to pre prop my apologies.

But now i have further concerns in respect to dash providing liquidity for your atms as you claim your alrrady running business profitable dash is already accepted why should the dao fund your liquidity reserves, and additional atms?
Reply
1 point,5 years ago
No worries, Realmrhack.

Great question. Vault Logic provides the crypto liquidity for the Vault Logic network from our internal exchange. Thus the reason I asked for some DASH for Q1 just to provide us with a small amount to increase the DASH in the network, and then we will continue to buy DASH in order to support the network.

By Vault Logic supplying the liquidity, we have more freedom to customize fees and maintain the 1% DASH transaction fee and we allow more people to participate in hosting the ATMs, because they don't have to handle the liquidity.

The ATM lease goes towards the price of the ATM and then we include the wrapping. Thus since it is refundable, we will not be using that amount for liquidity.

In addition to offering the ability to integrate platforms that can use DASH and provide ad and media space for DASH, we also provide the liquidity for the network so the model of distributing the ATMs is seamless, in an effort to encourage adoption through accessibility.

Thanks!
