Proposal description

DIF October 2021 Funding Request

At the end of Q3 the DIF had 1852.79 Dash and $448,240 of liquid reserves. In addition, the DIF also had 1.41769 BTC and 6990.9 rune.

We are currently fielding many high-caliber investment opportunities and look forward to sharing more updates with you soon.

The DIF continues to acquire RUNE towards the THORChain listing of Dash. The technical part of the work is largely finished (as part of the Dash Incubator) with pull requests already made to the THORChain devs.

The next DIF Newsletter will be published in November, if you haven't subscribed already you can subscribe here: https://dashinvests.substack.com/p/coming-soon

DashDirect has become a daily part of my life. My father sent me an article about Bitcoin ETFs that mentions Valkyrie and I got to tell him that we are partial owners of it.

The DIF is making big moves and I'm happy to vote yes.

No until you change lawyer. Learn to be more ethical, it's as simple as that.

The DIF has C2Law on retainer, whom also serves Chainalysis.

So?

Because it compromises dash's position in the fight against mass global surveillance. It is not in the interest of our users to associate with those that defend the abuse of our users.

There is no fight against global surveillance of global public ledgers. Regardless, lawyers are lawyers. People hire them because they are experts in law, I don't care who else buys their services.

That's the position of Darren Tapp and it's ignorant to what Chainalysis actually does and to whom they serve. Chainalysis doesn't exclusively work with blockchain data. They aggregate and mine data globally. They acquire other companies and sell these data and services for the highest bidder, whether that is from the US government, the Australian government, or the Chinese government.

If I, as an individual, physically follow you to the shop and watch over your shoulder on every transaction, you'd have something to say about it. But the global surveillance is both silent and frictionless. It is insidious, allowing for behaviour that is socially unacceptable in any other context.

Sure, we can say lawyers are lawyers but consider when a court seeks expert witness and reports. To have a fair trial, neither the prosecutor or the defendant should be conflicted i.e. they should never be represented by the "expert witness" of the opposite side.

It's not coincidence that the DIF chose C2Law for negotiating business deals. It was strategic, that they can help close deals by saying, "our lawyer also represents Chainalysis, therefore we must be legitimate". This is tantamount to closing deals by advocating the screwing of our users. The DIF could of hired any other lawyer, but they didn't.
