Proposal description

FAQ

Is this a scam?

No.  If successful, this proposal will pay to the DCG payout address of 7mUyau75ATy1c6LoZeG3D57jKBkR4iHJkE same as any other proposal from DCG.

Who are YOU?

I am lysergic, the PO of the MNOwatch https://www.dashcentral.org/p/mnowatch-hosting-2026 proposal.

Why are you doing this?

To boost the reserves of DCG so they can weather a bear market.  Recently DCG made two new hires, Dustinface and Borja both of which are working on the Rust DashCore SPV client which will be instrumental to getting the iOS re-launch done and also for weening the Dash Evo Tool (DET) off of the DashCore wallet.  This SPV will also be used for the Android relaunch later in the year and 2027.  A third hire was also made, as yet unnamed who just started and will be working on the iOS wallet exclusively.  These hires have pushed DCG's run-rate to approximately $36, which doesn't leave much buffer in case prices fall below that later in the year.  This proposal will help ensure there will be money for these devs in case the price dramatically falls in the future.

So, you are bearish on price?

Yes, but that is not the point really.  The point is to prepare for any eventuality and ensure we don't have to let go of any employees because of price.

What about other POs, won't this proposal steal from them?

No, this proposal takes into account all active proposals on the leaderboard and an additional one coming in the next few days.

Isn't it better to not create the Dash requested by this proposal and hence let it 'burn'?

No, I don't believe so, mining or not mining 1000 Dash into a supply of 12.5 million Dash is inconsequential, but for DCG, the difference of another $40k+ USD could make a big difference later in the year or next year.

How much is the proposal requesting?

One time payment of 1000 Dash.

How long is the proposal running for?

1 month only, this month January 2026.

If DCG really needed this money, they would have asked!

Ask them if they need it, I believe they do.

I hate you! You suck!

Though not a question, too bad. ;)

Discussion: Should we fund this proposal?

I hope MNO's realize that this budget proposal is in direct competion with other budget proposals.

This is not a situation of requesting some leftover funding for DCG, like DCG did in the past. This will introduce strategic voting (which can already be seen by OP on the Dash Growth proposal, where OP downvote that proposal for this month in favor of his own hastily created proposal).

This could create a nasty precedent.

Dash Growth just put in a proposal with only 8 days left to vote. There is no budget available for them. Support development, build the future.

lol@'no budget available for them'. It is January, people will be late with their budget proposals. Even some of pshenmic's budget proposals have not been claimed by him nor provided with a proposal text.

Your own propsal (this one) was created just three days ago. You seem very quick to downvote a proposal that does not even have a proposal text when it suits you.

All it really does is further confirm to me that DCG should handle its own DCG Supplemental budget proposals.

@PO
If you aren“t a member of DCG then why do you submit such a proposal?

We want to ensure that DCG has the reserves to weather any storm.

Yes from me, thanks for this initiative!

NO from me.

DCG had no issues with presenting DCG Supplemental proposals themselves to the network for many many years, i see no need for other people outside DCG to do this on their behalf.

DCG previous budget proposal titled DCG Reserve Acceleration Nov 2025 was issued by DCG themselves a few months back and so far they seem to have not dipped into their reserves (with Dash price at $38 or higher, they mentioned that they are effectively still adding to their reserves).

DCG should remain fully responsible for those budget proposals that are using their own DCG dash address and should (in my opinion) not allow a situation where they can basicly hide behind other people's budget proposals, launched for them. That will just shift responsebility.

It can also distort communication between DCG and MNO's about DCG current financial situation. Questions that should be directed directly at DCG are now getting an intermediair and are no longer tied directly to them.

I still remember MNO's only getting a clear picture of DCG dire financial situation a few years back, after DCG started to comment on that very late in their own budget proposals (i believe it was in their DCG Supplemental budget proposals, turns out they had only a few months left before running out of reserves). I want to keep communication between DCG and MNO's short and direct. DCG --> MNO's. Not lysergic --> MNO's --> DCG.
