I have been voting yes on Dashforce proposals. but by now the amounts are getting larger and there needs to be a standard, like one the core team set with publishing expenses and being transparent in that regard. Would love to see the force go in a more transparent direction.
Reply

We are already more transparent than core and publish a detailed list of all our expenses.

I hope it's not bad form for a proposal owner to comment on another proposal?

We all see the amazing content Dash Force News creates every day and sometimes hourly. We see the released and polished final product resulting from many hours of effort and hard work. I have worked with Dash Force News on several stories, interviews and general exchange of information. DFN has never disappointed in their efforts and delivery.

Good Luck DFN,

Scott

Thanks to all masternode owners for their votes so far. I want to add that we have some big things planned for the rest of this year, including expanding video content beyond the weekly recap and the Three Amigos to include regular interviews with industry heavy-hitters, regular appearances on other media networks, and possibly a new show coming soon. In addition, we're expanding DiscoverDash to include how-to guides for merchants and users (including videos) to make the site a one-stop shop for anyone seeking to get into Dash, in addition to the nearly 300 Dash-accepting businesses around the world we've listed so far. Finally,we are lining up in-person conference speaking appearances all around the world for our team to take Dash to new audiences.

Thanks again for your support! We'll be the last team to let you down, trust me. :)

Day in, and day out, you guys produce content that is important for existing Dash users/holders to see. My definition of the niche you specialize in is 'internal marketing' - maintaining interest and disseminating information to those already engaged in Dash, likely decreasing user attrition. Mark's weekly recap and Joe Moraca's proposal reviews/research have particular value. Voting yes.

How many people are working full time for DashForce? How many people are working part time? How many websites are you currently supporting with your efforts? I know of two, dashforcenews.com and discoverdash.com. The funds requested will cover from September through November? I think the answers to these questions will help me and others to evaluate the proposal better. Thanks!

@joeblowwhoknows I don't read the comments on every thread it's true but I can't recall a single comment from you here that hasn't been rude and belligerent. I suppose if that was MY chosen style of interaction with other people I probably wouldn't give a damn about some random stranger such as me pointing this out - heck I may even find it gratifying - but nonetheless your behaviour here is routinely objectionable.
I'm telling you this just in case you are unaware. It is possible to disagree without being rude, why not give it a try today?

Perhaps you haven't been paying close enough attention, but I have seen improvements in both the quality and quantity of their content over the last few months.

Everyone has different taste, so they may not be your cup of tea, but they are making an honest effort and filling an information gap. Right now, they are an excellent use of the Dash budget.

Some of the comments listed here have been impulsive outbursts that lack professionalism and credibility. As Masternode owners, you have been smart enough to secure an important and rewarding role in a cryptocurrency with enormous potential. MNOs are essentially the board of directors of what is now a $2,000,000,000 company. Dash has one of the strongest communities of all cryptocurrencies, please don't poison that spirit with distasteful words. I value everyone's opinion, however we should come to the boardroom (Dash Central) maintaining a high professional standard. Any concerns at all can be raised with a much greater outcome by doing so intellectually.
Reply
1 point,6 years ago
The Board of a $2bn company are focussed and professional because they are appointed and paid to be so by the shareholders. The shareholders, on the other hand, are frequently a dishevelled rabble that shout abuse from the back of the meetings and have to be ejected. Obviously the mn holders are shareholders, not Board members. But for some reason we have seen fit to appoint a Board of 4000 shareholders. An unusual choice.
Reply
5 points,6 years ago
Another thing to add is that there is currently no way to prove that any comment on Dash Central is actually from a verified MN. So take dummy spits with a grain of salt until something changes there.
Reply
-9 points,6 years ago
comments can be rude, but whats unprofessional is raping the dash budget for $60000 per month. its on par with any government corruption. $10000 per month, maybe.

theres a reason brian freeman wont tell anyone his salary. its $300,000 per year now or more off this shit
Reply

"brian freeman wont tell anyone his salary. its $300,000 per year"

I wish. Our salaries are based off of core team averages and other proposal projects. There are other proposal projects out there that do less than Dash Force but get paid more, people seem to be happy funding those projects, myself included.
I work for the "minimum" amount my time is worth, any less and it would simply not be worth working as much as I do.
Dash Force Core team members work 7 days a week, no less than 50 hours.

While more money than I would normally expect, I think they are doing a great job and deserve this funding. Yes from me.
Reply
3 points,6 years ago
It's a risk management assessment. When choosing to be paid in Dash for months at a time, sometimes the price can tank, making covering expenses difficult. When it goes up, we save for new projects and unforeseen circumstances.

Thanks for your support, it means a lot to us, and we will continue to work as hard as we can to earn every last duff of the budget, and then some.
Reply
5 points,6 years ago
I love their work. Just overall good project!:)
Reply
8 points,6 years ago
Thanks man. Depending on what the price does I think we will have enough rollover to skip the December proposal cycle and use up most of our reserves like core has been doing the last couple of months. Better to have a bit extra than not enough, we will spend it wisely as always. I just got a new trezor so all extra funds will be nice and secure.

Reply

Hi joeblowwhoknows -- you are using a $300 price. That was not the price at the time the proposal was submitted -- please be fair in your judgement and the numbers.

Dash Force does not accept advertising or subscriptions. They are operating like a not-for-profit service to the Dash community.

I would encourage you to refrain from personal attacks and base your criticism on accurate data and evidence.

Before commenting, I'd like to report some initial confusion -- Mastermined, you'd reported on Reddit that Mark Mason's 'Dash News Weekly Recap' was in no way funded by DashForce. But here in this pitch, you're now claiming that the show does indeed fall under the DashForce banner.

So... which is it?
Reply
6 points,6 years ago
His new equipment and software for the show was not funded with Dash Force funds. If he sends me a receipt I would be happy to reimburse him though.

I'm now considering it to be part of Dash Force but I guess it could go either way. It started off as a smaller personal side project but has grown into something bigger, better and more time consuming.
I'll ask mark to clarify.

fantastic is a stretch. how about using half this fat ass monthly amount to, i don't know, actually give away to new users? or maybe buy ads on other websites, or actually bring new users to dash instead of just jerking eachother weaners to the same audience....

nope. they want this entire bloody wad of dough for fat fucking salaries and can only spend 2 dash a month on actual contests. its so fucking obvious these guys are laughing to the bank each month. jesus fuck, wake the fuck up and vote these guys out
Reply
5 points,6 years ago
I look forward to reading your proposal for giving away tens of thousands of dollars to new users.

We have been buying ads on facebook and just recently got approved for twitter ads so look for those as well as youtube ads! Or put your money where your mouth is and do your own proposal if you feel something is lacking.

"only spend 2 dash a month on actual contests."
lol, you may want to check that number again bro.

voting yes to dash force. Its absolutely needed. I would spend more on this or other similar teams. I believe a good team of people dedicated to a job are a lot better than a series of separate proposals from all and sundry. Although I suppose both are good - or would be if we could reduce the 5 dash proposal cost.

45k for news is ALOT. And from what I personally have seen/read a lot of the articles and reviews are just not good and are not informative.

Its a lot of junk articles like the multiple articles about supposive "Trolls" lurking around the internet. I think it's just silly nonsense.
Reply
6 points,6 years ago
As a former journalist and publisher, I can tell you that $45k is NOT a lot to pay for three full-time salaries which would also have to include the cost of benefits, taxes, etc. plus 15 part-time salaries, plus equipment, marketing/advertising etc. Oh, and throw in the cost of expansion and growth.

You may not LIKE what they are producing, but they are doing things and filling an information need that nobody else is doing right now.

Until someone comes up with a better proposal based on a track record of actual deliverables, they should be supported in the work they are doing every day for Dash.

Reply

You may want to actually read the proposal as you seemed to have missed quite a lot.
Reply
-6 points,6 years ago
Ah correct, what I see is Dash will be funding Dash Force to subsidize small projects proposal fees as well.

What exactly is your plan behind executing this task? Will you personally be giving the Dash out to Proposals of your choosing, because I remember the network voted not to lower the proposal fee yet you would be lowering it for users of your choosing? Or will it be a site like Dash incubator or Dash Treasury and why should we pay you to do what they do for free?

Sorry just a large lack of information on what you actually plan on doing. Thanks
Reply
7 points,6 years ago
If that's all you got from reading the proposal you need to try and improve your reading comprehension skills. You seem to be grasping at straws looking for something, anything to pick at.
The community trust that we will be good stewards of their funds and that's why they have supported us for almost 9 months now, that was before your time so you may not realize it's been that long.

The original plan for fees was to pick the top 3 highest rated proposal from biltongs PEC report and offer help to those who needed it.
Since that did not pass I have been listening to the community suggestions and just had a meeting last week with Jim Bursch of Dash incubator and offered to help and collaborate with him. We will be working together in the future to support good projects that need help with the proposal fee. I will also work with Dash treasury if they find a good proposal that we both support.

We have lots of other new exciting stuff planed too, one being sending our reporters to the Dash London and China Blockchain conferences to do video reports and interviews as well as a few other surprises, stay tuned!

Jesus fucking christ $50000 per month?!?!?!?!!!! For 2 articles per month!?!? This is the biggest fucking ripoff since dashair's farnsworth's free quarter million dollars without a goddamn airshow yet.

If you fuckwad idiots continue to vote for this, you deserve to lose the money. To anyone too stupid to understand this proposal: it gives mastermined a monster $40000 per month salary for managing a few cheapass entrylevel article writers who mostly just copy the latest coindesk article and add some faggy graphics.
Reply
4 points,6 years ago
"you deserve to lose the money" -- no money is lost; the money is created. As long as we are not spending the whole budget, there isn't even an opportunity cost. You may quibble about the price, but there is no cost.

This sounds like a personal vendetta and not a valid criticism of the proposal.

There is no question that Dash Force adds value to the Dash community and based on their track record, they will add more value.

Please, consider your words.

Core is a separate entity that the community trust.

You are an entity the community doesn't fully trust.

That being said, we trust core properly distributes funds, but are Leary on how your funds are distributed.

Itemizing is essential. But it is fully your choice to do so or not.
