Discussion: Should we fund this proposal?

I wish this proposal was better budgeted, I think that a reasonable price would be around 4 dash (around 200 usd), maybe this was unintended since the price of DASH went up so much. So given the 5 dash plus 4 dash, maybe next cycle you could have it priced at maybe 14 dash (including that new fee).

Voted yes because you are a really good graphic designer and a genuine dash fan. I hope you do a lot more designs for dash and more importantly spread them widely.

In the case of wallet comparison you should commit to update it every 3 months.

I'm really sorry, but I'm not comfortable with showing off all these wallets which we can't ensure are safe. It's an interesting idea, but I just don't want the Dash project to put their "stamp of approval" on things we can't control (and this would do so, if we fund it, IMO)

Unless it is the core wallet, it can't be ensured to be safe. Ultimately, unless you compile it yourself, it can't be ensured that it is safe, if you want to be pedantic.

That's a one line disclaimer which I am sure the designer can add. I see no issue posting the breadth of wallets out there and how they compare.

Does this budget include maintenance & updates to keep the information up to date? I can imagine that this data would become outdated after awhile.

no, it doesn't. But will all the source code in order to edit in the future.

You should post the graphic that you made for reddit here. You have a real talent for graphic design. That, plus your commitment to making a website with the same information has convinced me to change my vote. So long as you continue to provide updates, I'm sure you can win over some more people.

Two of the mobile wallets that I have an interest in are missing from the list. First is Dash Wallet for Android (which has 6000+ active installs from Google Play and as many as 20,000 total installs) and dashwallet for iOS. The iOS version may not be on the Apple Store.

About them sure to be told. I will increase the number of slides to cover all possible wallets(during the voting Dash has already been added to several new)

Before changing my votes, I would like to see this "website" idea posted by kevmate pan out. DanyDash please elaborate on what else you could provide to make this proposal worth it.

I quite like this idea, because its an important decision, and people don't want to try out all the wallets. And we want people to avoid scams. But $1900 for 14 slides seems high. I would expect a whole website, albeit a straightforward one. Can we get a website that we can publish and direct people to?

Yes, I can do it, if this project is approved, all information will also be provided in Web format.

How in depth do you intend to go for the info on each wallet? Don't get me wrong, I think it would be useful to have an overall view of all the dash wallets that we can show to people who have wallet questions, but if it is only the amount of info available on the front page of a couple of the wallet websites I don't think it would be worthwhile.
If there isn't going to be a pretty decent depth of info for people with technical questions, it would be easier and less confusing just to have one or two wallets that the community can recommend to anyone who is asking comparison questions (i.e. Jaxx and Core) rather than make people comparison shop wallets.

Many of them I use and know their pros and cons. Choice is good, a good choice will make this presentation :)

Dany, having a presentation and website for this would be great. We need to know more detail about how in depth you will go. Please compare what you will do to these sites:

https://99bitcoins.com/best-bitcoin-wallet-2015-bitcoin-wallets-comparison-review/

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_bitcoin_wallets

Let us know if more in depth, equivalent, less, whatever you plan to do. Especially compare to the first site above.

Thanks!

A great example! Yes, such a plan can I do.
Understand html5\ccs3\js. I can do the same but in a different key.

The link to the 99bitcoins.com site seems to be the sort of thing we need. A quick comparison web page with ticks/crosses and marks out of 10, then links to a detailed review on each wallet. Then we need to maintain the site. At the moment I am voting no, but I can see the proposal being voted in if I can be persuaded I am going to get something great.

Can we have a site that can be improved and changed as time goes by? If it were to be improved in the future could it be done by anyone who wins the contract?

Good idea. Site should be done off a wiki or in some way so that it can easily be maintained by anyone.

DanyDash - I can't vote yes for this without hearing more of a response from you on these. See kevmate's notes above.
