Proposal description

This proposal is cross-posted from the Dash Forum

This proposal funds the expenses for Dash to participate and sponsor the "Blockchain & Bitcoin Conference" in Stockholm, Sweden as the General sponsor of the conference. Link to the conference webpage: https://stockholm.blockchainconf.world/en

The Blockchain & Bitcoin Conference is one of the biggest and most influential blockchain technology conferences in Europe, which is organized by Smile-Expo and is being held in Stockholm on September 7th.

This conference will focus on Sweden and foreign projects implementing Blockchain and cryptocurrencies. Experts will share their experience of implementing Blockchain in governmental institutions (Govtech), banking systems, trading, media, healthcare and other spheres. We will discuss all the aspects of creating innovative IT products – from the emergence of idea to entering the market.

The main participants are IT developers, entrepreneurs, investors, software and equipment manufacturers. The speakers are managers of well-known companies and representatives of governmental authorities.

A General conference sponsorship provides Dash with a prime opportunity to introduce our solutions to the European market. We anticipate significant growth in our connections in Europe with local companies, and introduce Dash to potential users at the same
time.

Attendees from Dash will include Fernando Gutierez, Alex Werner, and Robert Wiecko. Robert and/or Fernando will be our presenter(s) on the main stage.

We are seeking funding for a General sponsorship package, which includes the following:
  • Giving floor to Sponsor’s representatives during the forum opening and closing ceremonies
  • Possibility to speak during as a moderator
  • More advertising opportunities - 7 pieces: placement of advertising banners and roll-up stands
  • Possibility to organize events and contest games at forum and final Party on behalf of Sponsor
  • 2 work spaces in the exhibit area
  • Sponsor’s logo in event’s social network communities
Costs for the conference sponsorship total $10,330.

We will also require funding for travel and lodging for up to 3 team members. The team and event will be also supported by 2 Wachsman PR representatives on-site. We are estimating these additional expenses at $7,136. Any unused funding will be applied toward future conference events.

If you have any other questions, please direct them to @kot in this Dash Forum post to ensure I see your request.

Requested funding is as follows for the August 4th budget cycle:

  • 94.29 Dash for sponsorship and expenses for general sponsorship of the Blockchain & Bitcoin Conference ($17,466 USD @ $185.24 per Dash)
  • 5.00 Dash proposal reimbursement
Total: 99.29 Dash

Note: Should any funding remain, we will apply it toward future conference and travel expenses.

Yah, they're getting kind of late Ryan ;)

I'm wondering if there isn't anything we can do to sponsor or promote Dash in Africa and South America / Caribbean / S/E Asia / India, etc... instead of always the "first world". I know it's easier and safer in the "first world" but a lot of us are hear to make the whole world better.

Apologies, I don't know the Politically correct word for "first world". That's what I grew up with, and I honestly have no idea the terminology used today, so please, I mean no offense.

I agree with you Tantestefana, but I think we should start investing in them soon after evolution, due to the fact of education level difference, in the first world that where most of the integrations take place.

I think third world countries just don't have the money or the technology to come into this market. I wonder how much of Africa even has wifi to exchange crypto lol

a lot of people have phones, even in remote villages. Maybe not everyone, but access is pretty good. There are a lot of big cities in Africa as well. It's not all in turmoil. But there isn't as much of a "return on investment" for Dash to reach out there. But in fact we have had proposals from people in Africa that have not gone through, and I do hope that we will lend a bit of trust to people trying stuff there because any network we can get going in any country in Africa (besides South Africa) would be good, IMO.

Shoot, that was really badly written, LOL. Sorry. I would just like to see us build networks in other parts of the world besides the big industrial countries - simply because it's the right thing to do.
